Help! .... After doing a system restore, there was only one restore point
to restore from, my copy of Windows XP Home Edition boots up in the
activation screen. I type in the original numbers from the sticker but it
just reboots back in activation mode. Do you have a work around for my
dilema?
THanx Richard

when you first turn on the computer (after bios screen) > hit the F8 key a few times

when a list of boot options comes up, choose last known good configuration

hmm,

the only thing i can suggest is to start a chat with microsoft

or do a backup of your files and format/start over from scratch

Thanx again ... Reformatting will be my next move after backing up the drivers and files. It's on a HP media center version of XP and am trying to keep it as intact as possible.

I've found that if you call Microsoft and verify that you have a legal copy of Windows than they'll give you a new activation key.
