Didn't get involved in the "Black Friday" madness. Stayed home and have been eating Turkey Sandwiches. I was going to drag the Christmas stuff down from the attic, but haven't as yet, but I expect to have it up by Monday. Hope everybody had a good Thanksgiving. coastie

Awe =( What were you looking for? Problems online are that you kind of have to dig around to find the best deals. I spent most of the day comparing Xbox 360's and came to the conclusion that Amazon.com had the best deal for me since I wanted a hard drive. Although they and walmart were holding arcade specials to at regular price include guitar hero 3 w/controller and a different one with DDR matt game. Best Buy had a bundle of 2 extra games I'd never play, Game stop had another game I'd never play (rainbow six something I know its popular just not my cup of tea). Radio Shack had a 50 dollar rebate in the mail (no thanks lol), Target has a 60 dollar gift card (all these are with purchase of an Xbox 360 pro holiday bundle standard with Indiana Jones Legos and Kung Fu Panda), I think Circit City had about 40 dollar gift card. Select Walmart stores had door busters buy any Xbox bundle and get 50 dollar gift card. Amazon has it where you get the bundle regular price 299 a 60 dollar credit for your next video game purchase. With a combination of Amazon's regular low prices, the fact that they don't ship with tax to most states, and that they were having the sale on the Xbox anyway until Monday evening seemed like the best deal for me personally. Though if I didn't care about playing demos backwards compatable games and saving a lot of files I might of been inclined to get the Xbox Arcade Gutiar Hero III or the DDR version. I got to look at the deals and prices everywhere and a lot of deals were available online without leaving my door. Plus Amazon had the best deals on shipping free for the items I wanted if I wanted to wait standard and 12 -20 for next day. Walmart.com would charge tax like 48 dollars for next day shipping. Either way in the future years I think I'll do my black friday shopping online from now on. No cold, no stores, just deals and quick comparison's online. Well not really quick you have to rememeber who may be having your deals lol.

Aye, there's the rub. I didn't look too hard. I pretty much stick to Newegg.com and buy.com. I kind of wanted an SD card, a flash drive, or a wireless mouse. I'm a cheap skate, though, so there probably isn't a deal out there that would be good enough.

Hehe I got an SD card for like 9 dollars a few years ago (before they were generally cheaper) from a black friday at Walmart. This year Walmart had an external hard drive like 500 GB for.. I can't remember like $80. Besides the regular sites I went to the only computer related one I looked at was Apple's cause I think they sent me an email. Didn't seem to have huge discounts though, plus I don't have a mac so I can't use some of the stuff they are selling anyway lol. The better deals I had to look harder for they weren't on the main sites they were codes you had to enter in on check out, like Amazon I had to dig in a few places to find Xbox Elite then a free Gears of War 2 + some expensive replica gun for free for the day. Which would of probably been the 'best deal' for what I was looking at. NewEgg have anything interesting?

Yeah, I buy most of my DVD's and games from Amazon. I can avoid the state sales tax ( 5%) that way. :D I done all my Christmas shopping on line for the past three years. That thing at the Walmarton Long Island was terrible. After having spent a little over two years in New York City, I wasn't surprised as that is the nature of the people up there. I learned early on not to dawdle. If you are standinding on a subway platform and the doors open, you had better move, or you will get trampled. Even walking down the street, if you are walking too slow, you are at risk to get knocked down. I saw a thing this morning, where a store had a special on XBox 360's and had 15 stacked in a floor display. A fight broke out over that. If people had done their homework on those things, they probably wouldn't have been all that anxious. The RROD problems are still alive and well with the Xbox 360.

Theres no way I'd be looking into a Playstation 3 though and I've done the Wii thing, would want one again but I dunno. Either way as mentioned in the other post the RRD is not as frequent as it use to be and Microsoft takes a lot of responsbility in replacing them.

When I got this thing in September, i was under the mistaken impression that it was backwards compatible with the PS2 and I had a lot of PS2 stuff. I was almost at the end of FFXXII when the disk quit turning. One of these days I'll open it up again, and go all the way in to it and give the spindle a look.

The FF games are fun. I've got FFX, FFX-2, and FFXXII. Guess I'll get FFVIII when it comes out for this thing next month. When I bought the PS2, I got home and my Nephew, who was with me at the time, Nicely told me I had forgot to get a Memory card and that one didn't come with it. I asked him why he didn't say something while we were at the store. He was too busy pulling games off the shelf for me to buy, including God of War, which I told him that there was no way he was going to play that and to put it back. I ended up just getting one game, Tomb Raider: Anniversary.

Stopped at 7 just never had it, we do have 8 but the playstation being in boxes most of the time, and I just don't like the way its set up. I played a little of 9 which I enjoyed but never owned a PS2.
