LARA CROFT TOMB RAIDER: UNDERWORLD (PS3 VERSION)

I decided to check this out at around 9:30 PM on 27 Nov. I played til around 12:30 AM and started again at around 5:45 AM the next morning. I played off and on all day and got some hours in and have now gotten to the Southern Mexico segment. Yeah, I've missed relics & treasures along the way. In the PS3 version, it starts out fine and will get you into it in a hurry. Unfortunately, it turns out to be buggy as heck. The camera goes crazy at times and usually at the worst possible times. Then came the Grand Daddy of glitches. I got to a place with old Mayan Calendars that needed to be adjusted. On one Calendar, you had to place a skull, that you had previously picked up, on a pedestal . When I got there, there was a skull on the pedestal. I used the Triangle (Execute) button to place the Skull and nothing. I figured that since there was skull already there I could simply pull the lever and adjust the Calendar. Nope. Not gonna happen, gotta place the skull that is in my back pack on there first. I had created a save point at the begining of the segment, so reloaded and started the segment over and got the same results. You would think for a $60 game, it would be ready for release before they released it. I don't know about the other versions ( PC, Xbox360, & PS2 ). I do know the PS3 version was not ready for prime time. Coastie65

Hey piyush, I believe it could be related to camera positioning, as far as that aspect goes. As far not being able to execute a particular task, that is a whole nother thing. All I got from their support was basically start over and see if the problem persists. Yeah right. I told them they should test the thing and make sure it is ready for release before releasing it. :D It may just be with the PS3 Version though.

And that's what we expect from tech support - restart/try again. lol .
I ll post back when i get this and let you know how this goes for me. btw - a look at the trailers , the game story should be good like Legends and not boring like anniversary. Anniversary was just old lara croft with good graphics and all. Lara in Underworld doesn't look as good as she was in Legends. Anniversary was well ahead in this respect.hehe . ;-)

lets hope that these are not bugs but just random annoyances due to positioning of character and camera angle. Coz i ll be getting this soon , the PC version ofcourse. :D
Hi piyush, It was an annoyance alright. After at least 4 restarts and countless hours, I finally uninstalled the thing. I found that there was a firmware update for the PS3 so did that. I then reinstalled the game and commenced playing yet again ( found more treasures ). When I got to the Mayan Calendars it was the same thing.I spent a few more hours messing with it and couldn't figure out how to set the calendar that i could manipulate. By accident I discovered something that I hadn't seen. Once i messed around some more I was able to set the calendar. I went to the first one that I couldn't use the second skull on. After several trips bacl and forth between the two calendars, I noticed something I hadn't noticed before. I figured out what to do with the other skull, which then unlocked the mechanism and I could adjust it. Now I'm stuck with a mad timed motorcycle dash through the jungle. There was no glitch in the game, just the player. :p I think you will like it.

lol . hi coastie. :D good for you. Timed sequences - a trademark of tomb raider games and some are really hard. Have a nice time playing.

Hey piyush, Well, after numerous tries, I was finally able to beat the timer and enter the next stage. This thing just gets worse and worse as to what you have to do to reach an objective. Oh well, I keep plugging away. many retries, but I'll get it. Now I'm in an area with four trap rooms and it took quite awhile to figure out how to get into one of them and found a treasure in the process. Now I'm trapped in the room, I think I screwed up somehow...........as usual. :D I haven't gotten back to anything thing I have installed in here, and have probably forgotten where I was at. That's the problem with having too much going at one time I guess. coastie
