Part of the conversation from a desert island thread:
Coastie: Amazon.com had some
through third party sellers. If you have an account with Amazon, it is all done through that. You will be billed by amazon, not the seller, and the seller gets their money from amazon. Another in that same series is Baldur's Gate which I haven't played, and si also by Bioware.

Aurora: Yea I bought and sold on Amazon before so I know the deal. I think I HAVE Baulders Gate but the graphics are so old I never got far into it with Wow distracting me. I'm not sure where disc one is.. I know its seperate then th eother ones. I need something to organize them all =/

Baldaur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights are somewhat in the same region. They are kinda tied in Historically.

I thought Baulders Gate was a dungeons and dragons game, Neverwinter Nights is as well?

Yep, it's D & D rules which for me gets frustrating as I don't like to wait my turn. I just want hack & slash and get it over with and move on.

Hehe sounds nice, same universe? I don't remember what Baulders Gate was dragonlance? I had the most interesting game before Planescape Torment an award winning dungeons and dragons pc game. After Baulder Gate I believe yea wiki says it was released in 1999. That game was a lot of fun. You woke up as this guy who basically can't die but you've been stitched back together several times and you have this flying skull following you around talking to you a member of your party. So your in this very odd and sick land where people are dying and being brought back as slaves to whatever large organization where you woke up in. You pick up people along the way I happened to kill a hooker (like maybe in the witcher lol) and people got mad! LOL I dunno for some reason I didn't think they would mind if I killed a harlot, nope they cared I upset the balance too much and everyone in that section of town came running at me. I zoned into this weird maze... ... .. like a bunch of broken circles and arches and you gotta find the right like 1 that ports you back into reality. Sort of punishment for upsetting the balance too much since you can do quiet a lot of free reigned stuff in the game. I couldn't find my way out and gave up =( I need to find my discs. Another interesting thing about Planescape Torment is that you didn't pick "mage" or "warrior" or "rogue" along the way you picked up masters and could only like say spec in one, but were given the option to basically choose and forge your own path and become one of them. Also im the game you have no idea who you are a lot of the quests really help you try to figure out just who you were in life. You get to talk to your mom who's a ghost in the place you wake up in, and theres a message on your back hehe. Instructions or something so you won't forget.

Opening graphics to Planescape Torment, of course the whole games not like that this is a computer game from 99, won best game of the year or something.

Arg it ate my post lets try this again: In response to http://forums.pcworl...art=30&tstart=0

Coastie: I don't see where the library is all that extensive. Lot of FPS stuff which I'm not into. I might get a Tiger Woods Golf thing that I'll throw out the door when my nephew starts whipping me. :D I 'm mostly RPG with an occasional Adventure Game thrown in.

Sounds a lot like me, though I like the golf games (not the Tiger Woods ones) on the Wii, but thats because of the controller. Otherwise I don't care much for sports games. Rpg rpg rpg though since you have an original xbox I suggest you get Kotor sometime (if your a star wars fan) you might really like it, kotor 2 has better graphics, but the first one has a better story but they both connect so I suggest playing both of them. Jade Empire is fun by the way. Anyway what I was going to say before my post didn't go through is did you see the new FF type game? The Last Remnant I was checking them out yesterday on Square Enix now they have a commercial. Looks just like FF lol I mean come on the name even looks simliar Final Fantasy/The Last Remnant probably wanted to come out with something for the 360 since right now PS still has the mainstream contract right? I know there are off games on the xbox but not the main ones.

The Baldur's Gate / Neverwinter Nights Is part of the Forgotten Realms series and you will see some of the same places mentioned in both, such as the Sword Coast. Oh, I also have neverwinter Nights 2 and am nearly finished with it, but hit a slight sang, in that I ran into a tough opponent. :p

Yeah, I've seen some on The Remnant and it looks like maybe the same formula as FF. Square Enix was ready to fold when they released Final Fantasy and thus the name for the game, as it was a Final attempt. They hit a winner and have created a franchise. They have released some other titles as well. I'll be taking a look at it.

This is a great idea, Aurora. This way some of our threads won't be going off topic as often.

Thank you. :)

Yea I still play WoW (er my keyboard isn't agreeing with me right now)

currently;

level 80 belf death knight

level 70 holy priest belf

level 70 warlock belf

level 52 (I think) ud war (female)

I have more chars but lately the lowbies I've been playing a level 21 hunter belf, and just started another rogue.

I have almost maxed out JCing on my priest, I am a grand master tailor/chanter on my lock, death knight is started working on black smithing and inscription.. I do have a 30 mage that has inscription but I'm trying to do it on the death knight. My Warrior has mid level alchy I'm hoping to get up there.

Coastie awe, when we Neverwinter nights 2 released? Is it any good? MMO, or stand alone rpg?

I really want to play Oblivion because Marrowind was such an excellent game. Yea I know about the final fantasy last ditch effort. Ugh they redid Chrono Trigger and they look like chibby DBZ chars. I love Chrono Trigger. Played half way through Chrono Cross, but didn't get to finish it =( I really would like to finish that game sometime if I could ever find it =(. That new one from square the last reminant looks pretty good. I think I mentioned that before though.

Hi Aurora, NWN 2 has been out. I am nearly finished, except I ran into bit of a snag with a Wizard nd his minions that don't go down too easy. :p I 've got the Game of the Year Edition of Morrowind that has both expansions, Tribunal & Bloodmoon. As for NWN & NWN2, I think both have online play as well, I don't know how many players there may be, as I think they may all be over at WoW. :D

The only warcraft game I ve played is warcraft III - reign of chaos and its expansion : frozen throne and that was around 4 yers ago. Interest in strategy and RPGs disappeared and racing and FPS took over everything.

Warcraft III only had heroes till Level 10 in campaigns and if i remember correctly have also seen level 15 in some campaigns also.

Does WOW series continue the story after warcraft 3 or is it totally different ?

I haven't ever played Warcraft 3 but I think its in the past..?

I know the Lich King is in Warcraft 3. I'll ask my friend that has both of them later and let you know what he says.

I can give you a rundown of what has happened in the world of warcraft universe if it helps give you a time line.

Lol coastie, I don't have any of the marrowind expansions I think maybe one.. but the one on the computer allows you to turn into a werewolf? I can only turn into a vampire.. speaking of which I haven't seen that game in a while.

Aurora, the one where you be a werewolf is the Bloodmoon expansion to Morrowind. A lot of Morrowind had that old Gray Washed out landscape that was dreary to the max.

Lol, it is a happy thread.

Warcraft 3 is in the past of World of Warcraft, I thought as much but I wasn't 100% sure so I wanted to ask.
