I work for an organization whose main campus is on the top of a mountain in New England. When it snows, there are times when it is impossible to get to the office.

We have begin using VNC networks to connect to our servers so that work can be done off-site.

One hurdle that we have not overcome yet is providing a means for hourly employees to punch in while using the VNC network. I know the technology i available to solve this problem. It's more of a cultural issue. Some of the administrative staff are unsure about allowing as many people as possible to work off-site.

The article states that “nearly three quarters of UK workers want unified communications.”
n-tara (my company's) n-Powered Enterprise product won the 2006 Frost and Sullivan Technology Innovation of the Year award for creating a centralized one-stop shop for managing field representatives with real time conferencing, messaging, forums and up-to-date presentations. Check it out. http://www.ntarawork...m/nPowered.aspx
