In response to Flashorn,
I'm intersted in seeing what I like and what works best for the situation. I have some relatives who have 6 months left on their Norton
subscription but aren't tech savvy, so an all in one security suite would be best for their situation. I'm not too concerned about pushing the layered approach on them -- but I am concerned that viruses and trojans keep slowing down my relatives PC and Norton hasn't picked up a single scent. So far McAfee seems interesting ($39 for the all in one suite), but I haven't installed the trial.
So far my only complaints with Trend Micro are that my virtual machine slows down to a hault @256 megabytes of ram , but we'll have to see how it does with removing all the spyware that I've planted.
Comments away ... or post away.

Hey Techie!!
I would think that , that would be a very good idea (to upgrade).
Don't try to run a full suite on just 256 of ram . They will hate you!!!
OK techie, this is what Avira has to say about resources. This is with all services showing.
Avira Free:

Look at Asquared . This is just an AntiSpyware with Full time shields.
(This is a Trial for a year , For evaluation)
Now , look at Avira (Both entries) . There is another entry for Avira :
The scheduler ( sandboxie is pretty good)

Granted , this is the Free version and does not have all the shieds but ,
if you couple that with SUPERAntiSpyware Professional : (with Shieds)

You could probably run both of these apps. on 256 and be well protected.
I don't know what other processes are attributed to these services (svchost.exe)
and how much more resources they would take up but, from what I'm seing here
you could certainly give this configuration a try before you upgrade .But, it certainly
would not hurt to add a stick of 256.

Hey techie!!
I don't understand , you don't chew people out. I did not mean to imply anything!!
Ok, The only time I used a Full Suite was when I first had XP in a notebook. That's
about 4 years now. It was McAfee and only had AntiVirus and Firewall. I had AVG 7.0 for Antispyware.
That worked good but, it did slow XP down somewhat and I have 1 Gig of memory
on that notebook. Now it has Avira Free , SUPERAntiSpyware Professional and I
kept the Firewall from McAfee. It runs pretty smoothly. No slow downs.
The ASquared which I have on Vista is for Evaluation only and it is a Full Antispyware
program (paid for) Actually , I got it for free at GiveAwayoftheDay , with full updates.
Since August , I only got ONE false positive , a marked improvement over the older version.
BUT, it can be annoying with all of the shields on. So, I disabled one of the more annoying shields
and now it is more quite. As you can see by the Task Manager , it is still a very resource hungry
program. It could not run on a 256 computer.
Well, techie , what do you think , still want a full suite. The only other one that I heard of that was light on resources
was BitDefender. Now , I don't know HOW light but, this was on a Vista machine with more ram
than you can shake a stick at. I think that you will probably Not find a suite that does not demand a certain amount
of memory to run properly. So, keep looking but , this was and still is my experience.
If I can be of further assistance then, you know where to find me.
