Hey Everyone !!

I have just been informed by the good folks at Web of Trust , W.O.T. , that CastleCops is no more.

We have just lost one of the prime sites for fighting malware. Cleaning of our systems of the scourge that

afflicts some of us has gotten just that harder. This is what Castle Cops has to say on the front page when we

visit :

>>> aloha. <<<

Greetings Folks,
You
have arrived at the CastleCops website, which is currently offline. It
has been our pleasure to investigate online crime and volunteer with
our virtual family to assist with your computer needs and make the
Internet a safer place. Unfortunately, all things come to an end. Keep
up the good fight folks, for the spirit of this community lies within
each of us. We are empowered to improve the safety and security of the
Internet in our own way. Let us feel blessed for the impact we made and
the relationships created.
With respect to the server marathon,
by March 17 2009 CastleCops will refund contributions made through
PayPal that were specifically designated for servers. Unfortunately,
server donations made via check cannot be returned because we do not
have the addresses for the donating entity. Unless instructed
otherwise, CastleCops will re-allocate these funds as a donation to the
Internet Systems Consortium (ISC.org). This organization sponsored our
hosting environment for approximately the past 2 years. Please contact
us cc at laudanski dot com] before March 17, 2009, if you would like a
return of your server marathon donation. Otherwise, we would like to
thank the ISC for their unfettered support.

We thank everyone in creating our unique footprint and memories in time.

Love, Best Wishes and Happy Holidays, CastleCops

This is a sad day for the malware fighting community indeed. The years of being attacked by the

lawless malware junkies and their financial situation has forced them to go off line.

Their database of info. on the HijackThis logs are to be found here [SystemLookup
.

There, you can look-up any files that you think is a suspect file. You can search through

81,000 items to help in your fight against malware.

If you have to send someone for a cleaning plz take note of the fact that we no longer

have the help of this Community.

A sad day.

Hey coastie !!

Well, I just hope you're right. But, I don't think it was the attacks that closed

them down. They as other sites have a financial burden that I wouldn' t

want to carry. Don't forget , this is all volunteer work. So , the money has to come

from somewhere.

Thanks for your comment ,coastie.

Awww... I'm sorry the great people at CastleCops had to shut down their website. I never really used them, but I know there are a lot of people in this Community who think very highly of them.

Maybe they'll reincarnate in some other form, a smaller website/blog perhaps...? ?:|

Their services are truly invaluable, specially these days. I'm sure they'll be sorely missed.

Hey sweetie !!

Thanks for your concern and post.

I'm sure we will see something come of this. I would hope that one of their malware

expert would land on our doorstep. That would greatly help this community in

fighting and cleaning malware from member's PCs.

That will not only be amazing, it'd be awesome too!

Do you still have that connection/link to them? Maybe you can send an email and tell them/invite them to come in....?
