Changing the default search engine in Firefox is similar but easier. The button for changing search engine settings is in the list of search engines next to the search bar.

Thanks for the Vista ticbox tip. I've been trying to organize my 60 gigs of music and this will make it much faster.

Have worked with computers since the intel 4-bit microcomputer was invented. I am always amazed to find new useful tips in this column. Way to go!

If you visit a page in Firefox with a built in search engine, the search engine button will light up and give you the option of adding that search engine to your list.

Wow...
The Check box tips was really helpful. I didn't know that a feature like tat is existing. Thanks a lot!!! Now it would somehow help me in transferring "specific" files from different locations.
