Extend DTV Deadline, FCC Commissioner Says

Why does the government have to make discount coupons available to absolutely everyone before the switch? They don't make health care available to everyone, but somehow a $40 TV discount is indispensable?
There's no way to prepare everyone. So, 6.8% of the people aren't ready...I'm surprised the number is that low. What about the 93.2% who ARE ready?
It's going to be confusing and painful for some people whether it happens next month or next year or next decade. The government's had more than 3 years to prepare, as has the public. Pull the trigger. Make the switch. Get on with it. People will adjust.
