I downloaded The Foxmarks Bookmark Syncronizer recommended by Rick Broida in the latest issue. When I try to open and install it, however, I get the error message "Windows cannot open this file: "foxmarksbookmarksynchronizer-2.6.0-fx.xpi". It indicates Windows doesn't recognize the file type, "xpi".
Has anyone else installed this program?
Thanks.

Ahhh, that explains it. I gather you are not using Firefox as your main browser. The .xpi file you downloaded is actually a Firefox Add-On. If you do the same process but use Firefox, this is what you will see:
Once you click on "Add to Firefox," a separate window appear. A few moments after that, the "Install Now" button will become available and the Add-On will install directly into Firefox.

Hi UncleW. I can see why this application is so popular. I have a Dual Boot system (Windows XP & Windows Vista). I installed the syncronizer while I was using Vista. I restarted the computer in Windows XP and, after a few steps, was able to sync the passwords and bookmarks. Very cool.

MPH, it is a handy app. I've got hundreds of Bookmarks/ Favorites on my desktop and laptop. I back them up on a USB drive I keep with me so I can access them pretty much anywhere but with this utility all I need to do is go online.
I couldn'tna done it widdoutcha ;) ;)

Doh! I should have tried it in FF before posting. My only excuse- I read that the program works with FF and IE so I didn't think it mattered.
