But I'd rather say that they are just uninformed.
And that is precisely what I think will be one of the most obvious differing aspects about this president.
I believe this will be one of the most open to the public if not the most open president our nation has had.
Like the famous historical fireside chats via radio, the "youtube chats" will probably be seen as the first internet specific regular addresses by a US president.

Seriously though, now you're truly being obnoxious. I'm just stating a fact. Has nothing to do with my political opinion. He is already using youtube on a weekly basis to keep the public informed. And I think he will be very open on the things that he can be open with.
removed But the election is over. Get over it, and I say that to all the
Obama haters as well as all the Obama worshipers. I consider myself
neither one of those. I say now it's time for him to put up shut up!

of the community standards. There are one or two posts before the one that was
"moderated" that should have been edited as well. Lesson learned: As they are applied,
the community standards allow us to attack first but not to respond to provocations.

Having a heated exchange of words is one thing, but resorting to name calling is a whole other issue. Even the "political cool aid" comment was not something that would be edited or removed. As a Member Moderator, I have to make sure that everyone is respected and no one feels like he or she is being "picked on" by anyone else.
Personally, I completely agree with MPHeadley's overall comments. It's basically "put up or shut up." There may be millions of people who have the same, "who cares" mentality but it is their right to have that mentality. Overall, politicians spit a whole lot of rhetoric and many times that rhetoric never amounts to anything. Who's to say that those who stated, "who cares" wouldn't have stated that exact same thing for any new President?
Again, I can understand what you are saying. If you have concerns about the way that this issue was handled, please feel free to contact Krissy, the Community Manager.

I'm sorry if someone got in a huff because I first thought all the comments were obnoxious and then thought they were simply uninformed? Sorry UNINFORMED was so insulting to someone, but heck, I was first going to say ignorant, in a "not knowing" and not a negative connotation!
To further clarify my original statement, I think the "I don't care" statements come from not having a basic understanding of why he has the blackberry to begin with.

As for another poster's comment, it has nothing to do with replying just because someone said something negative about Obama. It has everything to do with three people saying absolutely nothing that contributes to the discussion of the story!!!
And let's be clear on one other statement I made. Not being obnoxious here. I'm not sure you read the word "him" referring to Obama, in "It's time for HIM to put up or shut up. I just wanted to make sure everyone knew I wasn't referring to any poster here with that statement!

As I mentioned to Drrexx, if you or anyone else is not satisfied with how any of the Member Moderators handle the removal or edit of a post, please contact Krissy, the Community Manager. Going back and forth on this point will only exacerbate the issue and accomplish nothing.

I completely agree with you. Believe me, the removal of the statement was more a proactive measure and not necessarily penalizing you personally. People get very defensive when they feel attacked. When the only means of communication is written, there is no way to tell exactly what a person means by what they say. It is left solely to the interpretation of the reader. Unfortunately, the interpretation is usually incorrect. This could lead to a hostile or defensive statement right back...and then all heck breaks loose.

Sure it's nothing new, but I'll bet a lot more people use email and mobile devices that receive email a heck of a lot more than they did during those administrations. But it's probably not for mostly working with other government officials, but rather his own team. I'd be willing to bet that Obama picked his members of his administration with people in mind that would be willing to send him a text message and work with him via mobile electronic communications equipment such as blackberries.
Also, I was referring to what seems to be the general unwillingness I see in and read about Obama to be closed into the Presidential "bubble" where he will only communicate and hear from his administration and not the outside world. And the blackberry helps him not to be secluded in that bubble besides helping facilitate his work.
Whether he does that effectively or not is to be seen, and that is entirely up for debate SOMEWHERE ELSE!
But the emphasis related to the topic here is I sense there will be a HUGE increase of a president personally using technology with this new president.

I don't think Obama is really interested in what the people want. I don't think he needs to "keep in touch" with his subjects. So, it doesn't really matter to me what tools he uses; it looks like a big show to me. He looks so fake to me.

You just completely and totally PROVED all my points that the "I DON'T CARE" statements were totally useless here and were really only about non-support for a politician rather than about the technology in which this article refers to!
