Transfer files wirelessly

I have a desktop and a laptop that are connected to a wireless network. I am trying to transfer files wirelessly from my desktop to my laptop using emails. I use Microsoft Outlook 2003 on both of my computers. How do I achieve this if I am using only one email address?

Hi SigitNurhadi. You are doing more work than you have to do. Since both the laptop and desktop are on the same network, simply set up a shared drive and exchange files that way. It is not that hard to do at all. Let me get some steps outlined for you. I will be back with the steps and a link to a Document about the steps.

This has nothing to do with emails. Besides, the emails address has no bearing on the wireless network. Presumably you have a free email account (yahoo, hotmail, google, etc.) it would not matter what network you are on for those emails to go through. But as mentions, emails have nothing to do with this.

If you want to do it by email (i.e. you need to do it quick and don't have time right now to figure out what MPH is suggesting), then send the file as an attachment to yourself...but as soon as you have Outlook send it, quit Oultook on the computer you sent it on. Hopefully this will prevent that computer from donwloading the email message. If so, then you should be able to use Outlook to get the message on the second computer. If not, then we can adjust some of the Outlook settings to make it easier.

You are really going at this the hard way. Simply create a folder on one machine and share it following MPH's document. If you use the same user name and password on both machines it will be easier. I strongly recommend using password protected sign on's for all wireless machines on a network.
But, if you are determined to e-mail yourself a message with the files attached, and then immediately shut down the sending Outlook program and switch machines, it should come down with the files attached. If it does not, look to your security settings because they are preventing all such attached files.
