Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone knew of any reputable 3rd party backup software(preferrably free)? I need to backup my hard drive, and I have Windows XP Home, which I have learned does not have a backup utility except for on the source disk. All of my Hardware drivers and OS disks are lost in storage somewhere, so I have no idea where it is. As always, thank you all for your help in advance!!

Well, Cobian is free. I am still using the version 8 "black moon" eventhough there is a more recent version (Amanita).

Once you will have set it up, you will only to kick 2 keys, and there it goes. You also have the choice, for subsequent backups, to select "incremental" or "differential" backup.

hi, Blood.

I don't know any good free file backup programs (the sort that do incrementals, and the sort you want to use on a daily basis). I suppose I'll have to check out Cobian at some point because I'd like to have one I could recommend.

You should read What's the Best Way to Backup What I Need to Backup? for my suggestions and other backup advice.

FWIW, I recently switched from local backup to Mozy Home, which costs $5 a month and is a complete no-brainer.

Thanks aL1ba for the help! I have downloaded Black Moon to my flash drive and give it a try when I get home.

I decided to shell out 30 bucks for Acronis Disk Director 10, and it worked great. As always, I am grateful for the help.
