I can not delete them. I click "delete" then "yes" and nothing happens.

Hi MoyerNP. First, I have no idea what just happened to like 3 or 4 of the latest posts. I was posting a message in response to a message sent by Coastie and now a whole series of posts are gone. Anyway, here is what I originally wrote:

Okay, there may be some miscommunication. Let me try to tie the knots.

Back in post #34, SpiritWind asked you to submit a list of all the applications that are installed in your computer via a Hi-Jack This log. Your response, noted previously by Coastie as Post #35, is in the screen shot: (Click on the image to enlarge it.)

As you can see, 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 1 (SP1) is listed ten (10) times. I highly doubt there is ten separate installations of Office 2007 installed in your computer but I believe this is to what Coastie and Flashorn are referring.

To solve all of this, please open Add or Remove Programs from within the Control Panel and verify that there is indeed only one installation of Office 2007. At the very least, you may have a corrupt installation of Office.

I can not find that file anywhere. However, in revo I see there are
MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB936181)
MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB941833)
MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB954430)

Aren't those the same things?

No. MSXML (Microsoft XML Core Services) is completely different. Just to make sure we are all on the same page, when you go to Add or Remove Programs, you do not see anything like this: (Click on the image to enlarge it.)

If you do not, there is a significant issue with your computer.

Hi , You said you couldn't find Office 207 anywhere, but I noticed that you have getting and installing security updates for it. Those things you have listed is something else. coastie

I see the activation assistant, language setup, and the office programs. Nothing like in the picture. I see it in my registry.

Okay so at one point you did have Office 2007 but the uninstallation of that suite may not have completed successfully. If you still have access to Office 2007, I would suggest installing it again and then uninstalling it through Add or Remove Programs. Once that is done, run another Hi-Jack This log to see if you get the same duplication of Office 2007.

How do I uninstall it if I can't find it? Also, if I uninstall it how do I get it without buying it again?

My suggestion was only contingent on whether or not you actually still had the Office 2007 retail CD. Since it appears you do not, this now comes down to a registry issue. It appears the original Office 2007 installation was not uninstalled properly. Security issues, especially registry corrections, are not my specialty. I personally do not recommend anyone to make any changes to the registry, or use any third party registry cleaners, unless they know exactly what they are doing.

I will now step aside and see if any other members have any suggestions for you.

LOL Hi Coastie. That is a bit like killing a fly with a bazooka. LOL The underlying issue is definitely the fact that Office 2007 is corrupting the functionality of Webroot but would simply using another security application be a better alternative?

Hey mph, :D Yeah, probably so. With all I have going on right now with my dog, guess I may be getting a bit testy as well. He is deteriorating prettyquick and i have been having trouble getting hold of the Vet. His kidneys failed and I knew he would have to be put down, but his condition has gone down much more rapidly then was thought. Anyway I agree with your assessment as I think the installation was really screwed up. coastie

But, I have had Office 2007 for a year while I had Webroot installed and it ran fine. It can not be the installation of Office 2007 because the problem would have occurred when I installed Office 2007. Also, I have not done anything with Office 2007 other than use the products like they are supposed to be used when the Webroot problem started.

Moyer, you are stating two different things. First you indicated that you could not find the Office 2007 entry within Add or Remove Programs (in Windows Vista, it's called Program and Features). Now you are stating that you have had Office 2007 for over a year. Those are conflicting statements.

The screen shot I attached was from my Windows XP Operating System. I am currently using Windows Vista. Here is what you should see if you truly have Microsoft Office 2007 installed in your computer: (Click on the image to enlarge it.)

If you do not see something similar to this, Office 2007 is not installed in your computer. This contradicts the fact that the Hi-Jack This log shows ten instances of Office 2007.

I do not see that anywhere. It has been like this for the whole time I have had it and there is no problems using Office 2007. I do not think this could be the cause since it has always been like this, before and after the Webroot problem started. It has to be something else.

I beg to differ but if you are adamant about your belief, there is really nothing more that I can say on that point to convince you. At any time have you considered uninstalling and then reinstalling the Webroot application?

Tried that. Do you think uninstalling it with Revo Uninstaller would make a difference, or would it damage something?

I personally have never used Revo Uninstaller but, from what I have seen within this Community, it is a pretty powerful application. However, to be honest, I believe uninstalling the application may only mask the true issue.

I have not read through the entire Discussion but is this the only security application you have? If so, and if you do decide to uninstall this application, I would recommend installing another security application to see if you have the same issue. I personally do not provide software application recommendations; however, here are two recent Discussions where individuals asked for recommendations:

{thread:id=47380}

{thread:id=49923}

In addition to these Discussions, here are two Documents detailing some of the more popular security methods:

{document:id=1830}

{document:id=1141}

If you do have other security applications already installed, I would advised you to try those applications to see if you have the same issue. In either case, if you do not have the same issue, Webroot may not be your best security application choice. If you do have the same problem, I believe we would have to dig a bit more to get to the root of the problem.

Can I cancel my subscription and get my money back? Also, is Comodo Bo-Clean a good antispyware?

I am sorry Moyer. I do not give any software recommendations. That has just been a personal rule of mine. I go by the motto that personal research is better than any one person's opinion. If no one within this Community has any opinion about Bo-Clean (whether good or bad), I would advise you to do a bit of digging on your own.

As to the subscription question. I would have no idea. I presume that you did not sign a contract so I would say you can cancel at any time without being penalized. As far as getting a refund, that is something you would need to take up with Webroot directly. Here is a link to their legal notice. I do not see anything in there about their specific refund policy.:

http://www.webroot.c...bout-legal.html

However, you seem to be jumping the gun a bit. I still say you should run the test that was outlined previously. This will tell you if the issue is Webroot or your computer.
