Wait a minute. Internet Explorer 7 is built in to Windows Vista. If you want Internet Explorer 8 RC1 you can get it here: http://www.microsoft...ta/default.aspx

Hi MizzVee and welcome to the PCWorld Communities. :D

As Number6 indicated, Internet Explorer 7 is integrated within Windows Vista. When you double click on the Internet Explorer icon, Internet Explorer 7 should appear. What problems are you facing that is preventing Internet Explorer 7 from opening?

For some reason my browser keeps closing. And it will say "internet explorer has stopped working" or then "we are waiting for a solution to the problem".

I've took off the yahoo toolbar and add-ons that I had because thats what some ppl said to do but the problem is still happening.

If IE 7 not working. Use Vista DVD and go control panel , add remove windows components and remove IE and reinstall in also by DVD.

Is IE 8 beta version released..? How is that...?

Hi Dhanubaba and welcome to the PCWorld Communities. :D

I personally have never heard of this process. Internet Explorer 7 in Windows Vista is the same as Internet Explorer 6 in Windows XP. The browser is so far buried within the registry of Windows that it cannot be uninstalled. The best that one can do is remove access to the application. Do you have anything to validate your suggestion? Is there a Microsoft Knowledge Base article that confirms your statement?

Hi mphenterprises,

Are you sure ("The browser is so far buried within the registry of Windows that it cannot be uninstalled.")? I've frequently used "Revo Uninstaller" http://www.revouninstaller.com and found that unlike the 'add/remove' program in windows, revo uninstalls a program, searches the registry for any hint of the program being uninstalled and then finally shows you any left over questionable files that were not uninstalled and asks you if you also want them removed.

I find it quite extensive.

Hi Yepytzme. Thanks for that information. If you can truly uninstall the core Internet Explorer browser from either Windows Operating System using that application, I would sure like to see that. There are dozens, if not hundreds of forums threads asking this same question. Everytime I search, I see the same thing, Internet Explorer cannot be uninstalled from Windows. Access to it can be removed but that is about it. If you can use that application to counter this, I would really like to see either a screen shot process post of it or a Document created to walk others through that process.

Hi mphenterprises,

Sorry, I did not mean to suggest that I was successful in uninstalling IE. I was only submitting reference to the program as a suggestion to those who were not aware that it exists...and in the process of doing so thought it might help mizzvee210 with his/her problem.

Again, I do not use IE at all, I never have attempted to uninstall it thus I was not aware there was that much difficulty it.

If that's the case then...WOW.. microsoft really has got us by the you-know-whats.

Thanks for your info.

No worries. :D

Yeah, that is one thing that many, many people are very upset with Microsoft about. There are many alternatives to Internet Explorer but the core Internet Explorer browser (version 6 for Windows XP and version 7 for Windows Vista) is deadbolted into the Operating System and makes the Operating System unstable without it.
