Does anyone know what happened to the right-click "Save As" option for embedded graphics in Outlook 2007? There is only a Copy option when I right-click. The only way I have found to save a picture of my grandsons is to Copy/Paste into PowerPoint and save from there. Surely there is an easier way.
Thank you for your assistance...

"Save As" option in Outlook 2007

Hi Jesfine and welcome to the PCWorld Communities. :D
The "Save As" option was removed from Outlook 2007. Not sure why. Since pictures are normally .jpg (JPEGs), instead of saving the pictures in PowerPoint, you may want to save them in Paint.
Depending on your Operating System, this is how you find Microsoft Paint:
Windows XP:
- Click on Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Paint
- Right Click on the picture and copy it
- Within Paint, click on Edit -> Paste
- Once the picture is pasted into Paint, click File -> Save
- Select the folder in which you want to save the picture
- Change the Save as type from .bmp (Bitmap) to .jpg (JPEG)
Windows Vista:
- Click on Start -> type Paint in the Start Search field
- Once the search results appear, select Paint
- Right Click on the picture and copy it
- Within Paint, click on Edit -> Paste
- Once the picture is pasted into Paint, click File -> Save
- Select the folder in which you want to save the picture
- The default file type is already .jpg (JPEG)
Since Outlook is only an email client and downloads the emails from the actual email source, you can simply download the picture directly from the website email that you are using, for example GMail.
In addition, the pictures that are sent to you should be sent as an attachment, not embedded within the body of the email. If the pictures are sent as attachments, then Outlook will download the pictures as attachments so you can then download the pictures normally.
There was a discussion about this exact same issue a very long time ago but, for the life of me, I cannot find it. I am sure others will see this Discussion and provide their suggestions.
