VLC player always work for me.

I have not use any Microsoft product for awhile.

You might want to give VLC player a try

Good suggestion, but since the outcome is corrupted music files, a different media player won't work.

I have honestly NEVER heard of VLpre, and I have familiarzed myself with ever antivirus software available, making me think that it is smitfraud.

This is not something that WMP or the operating system can do by itself, your probobly infected with something, use a free AV like Avast or AntiVir to scan your computer IMMEDIATLY.

Hi, let me clarify please. The AntiVirus, Antispyware program that I use is called VIPRE, by Sunbelt, was called Counterspy in the past, now it has combined with anti virus and spyware..it is excellent. Read CNet reviews..my computer is clean, and clear of any issues. Try this product. Below is a link to a review:

Hi Howard. As bbvammy suggested VLC might work for you.....

I had quite a few video files that WMP won't play ...."It won't play in any CODEC that I think of....)

Finally I use this player..: www.videolan.org/vlc/ ..
