Has anyone tried Fee Music Download Spot? Have your experiences been good or bad?

Well David, for years I used LimeWire w/ very rarely a problem. Then about a month ago seemed like every darn time I went there I left w/ the same stupid worm or virus or whatever it was. My virus scan caught it immediately, and it'd be working, working, working down there in the corner and finally it'd give up, wave the white flag, and tell me, "I tried, I really did, but you're gonna have to go to Norton to get rid of this monstrous thing!!" So I downloaded a fixer thingy from Norton -- and it wasn't easy either. I actually ended up having to start my notebook in SafeMode to get rid of that ... THING!! So you know me, I give everyone a second ... or third chance but that was it, after three times I stayed far away from Lime. For a few days. Suddenly they came out w/ a NEW version and just as suddenly, no more problems. I'd thought about BitTorrent but don't know the first thing about it and I downloaded MP3Rocket but haven't used it once and over the past few weeks all the problems w/ Lime seem to have dissipated. Listen, I've used Limewire for years! I'll probably keep using it but no matter what you choose to use here's a word of caution: MAKE SURE YOUR INTERNET SECURITY IS UP TO DATE!!

Hey PalominoGirl, A lot of the members have long since abandoned Norton AND McAfee. There are some really good free apps out there such www.Avast!.com & www.SUPERantispyware.com. That is the first I've heard about anyone getting infected from Limewire though. Course, I went to a legitimate site looking for some info on XP and got nailed big time as the site had been hijacked. Even after a bunch of scans with different apps, I still ended up having to manuelly remove several entries. As for FREE music downloads I guess i missed that anyway, as i usually buy mine. Oh well. coastie
