Perhaps the problem is Apple is perceived as a "Premium" luxury brand item?

When the economy is suffering, people tend to take care of necessities first. And also become more aware of the cost/performance ratio. They would rather get value out of their money.

Let's all hope for a speedy turnaround to our common world-wide economical crisis.

Then people can splurge again on frivolities.

Yeah, I think the huge difference is definitely the economy.
I really hope this won't turn into another mac vs. pc battle. just doesn't seem appropriate here.

I do believe is a market situation which has cause the decline on sales, but I also believe Apples is concentrating more on the IPhone and IPod. These are the one that are bringing the revenue for Apple and have Apple concentration.

We're all part of the global economy, and all wish for a speedy recovery to everyone's prosperity! Please no Apple vs anything else rants. We've had enough of those futile bash fests. Mind you saying it like it is isn't bashing anybody. It's the economy. To make everybody 'feel good': Quality is never expensive... And Apple is considered top-notch-quality. But regardless, premium has its price...
