Firefox May Already Be Dead

"Not so. I use it n both Windows and Linux. Speed is the same, and not slow."
You're obviously a liar then. I did benchmarks myself, and read on the internet, and Firefox was from 2 to 3 times slower on Linux. Stop twisting the facts.
Since you're lying about facts everybody knows including the Firefox developers - now I'm dubious about the validity of the whole article.

I fail to understand your vitriolic response to my experience with Firefox. No lying, no fact twisting, that is what I have found on my system. Perhas you have aproblem with the way you have yours set up.

Firefox is the best for many reasons, maybe not for fast, but yes for usability, addons, easy of use, and I don't trust in Google.
Stats from my site:
IExplorer: 60%
Firefox : 27%
Chrome: 0.6%
I don't think Chrome could beat firefox.
Go firefox. I'ts the best!

Firefox is ONLY just over four years old (officially) and Mozilla and the tens of thousands of world wide volunteers working on Firefox improve upon it on a daily basis.
You're not the first or last who has said that Chrome will be the death of Firefox (or already is?), but you are surely amongst the wrong.
Chrome doesn't and hasn't inspired the same passion and great impression that Firefox has especially within geeks and the technically inclined.
If it did, then you'd see people flocking to Chrome to adopt, develop, support, and promote it instead of seeing the measly market share that it has generated.
And Chrome being new and young has nothing to do with it. Pre-official releases of Firefox already had a huge following and support.
Perhaps in five years, Chrome will be more ready for prime time and be competitive, but since Mozilla doesn't have any plans to stop developing and improving Firefox, catching up is going to be tough no matter how much cash Google throws into Chrome development and promotion. After all, Microsoft has a seemingly endless promotional budget and look where IE is and is heading all due to Firefox.

Firefox is sooo versatile that it makes web browsing fun
IE sucks because its so slow in loading webpages (and its not very secure)
Opera and Safari are optimized for the mac user (im a pc/linux user)
Chrome is not a full fledged broswer yet

You are obviously a microsoft mole. You are the liar. you have NOT done any benchmarks, if you have then post them.... you won't because they don't exist. I use windows xp at work and Ubuntu and windows at home and firefox on all of them and the speed is virtually the same maybe even a little faster on my ubuntu machine then my windows machine. If you are going to spew "facts" from "benchmarks" then you need to post the benchmarks. You are just like the liars I get in my email telling me how the story they are sending was verified on snopes when in fact if you check snopes the story is false. If you like chrome better, then use chrome. if you like windows because you don't like change and would never try anything else because you just LOVE Billy and would never do anything to hurt him then use windows. but don't try to make yourself feel better about your choices by bashing something you obviously have never used. You won't admit it and will probably reply to this that you have used linux for years but those of us who actually DO know you are full of crap.

A portion of Firefox users is akin to a kid in a candy store. to those of us who have used it. We download and install every time-saving, or just plain fun tweak and app and Firefox is suited so fine, but at what cost?
Suddenly, you have a bloated, unresponsive dolt.
Let us not forget that FF will gladly suck up any memory, virtual or otherwise after it has run for an hour or so.
Just today it locked up, and not just itself, but everything running.
I am not a fan of cold booting my brand new computer, but what choice did I have?
Yep, it got bratty with me today. Along with the aforementioned description, it now dared me to even touch it. I closed down the only other running app, and then gave FF another try. I typed in "Google Stability Problems" and just as Google responded with the first hundred out of hundreds of thousands that the query pulled up.
Firefox used to be fun. It was a welcome escape from IE6 and 7. I have a guess at the core problem FF is facing. Letting, what, well over a thousand talented, some not so, people create add ons, invariably there is going to be trouble. It was so grass roots, and still is. But the let everyone build it thinking might very well make Safari, Opera and most likely, Chrome.
I am not a Firefox hater. I am just the opposite. I even did my part and bought a t-shirt, along with adding them to my site, and telling friends and relatives to try it.
I will always have a soft spot for Firefox, but hey, I have to get my work done in a timely manner so that I get paid. The bottom line is that I no longer feel as if I can count on FF, and that is sad.

And anyway almost always the speed difference is so minuscule that you cant even see it.
Also more importantly to your argument, Mozilla is completely open source, Google isnt.
Maybe Chrome has a slight speed edge, but speed doesnt matter, as proved by Microsoft's IE 7, which is slower than all of them, yet still holds the highest market share.

I'm sorry but all I've had is nothing but problems. I emailed Google the other day cause Chrome kept crashing and they said Chrome doesn't like Computers with Avast and ZoneAlarm working together. All the other browsers are ok with Avast and ZoneAlarm, what makes Chrome special.
I'm sticking with either Safari, Firefox or Opera.

Author is linking to the Chromium - the different fork project in alpha state (hosted by the Canonical's Launchpad).
The whole discussion under the post is one great misunderstanding.

Don't get me wrong...I love Google, but Chrome is no where close to replacing Firefox on my system -- for work or play. In fact, when I connect to my work PC remotely, I get the absolute best performance out of Firefox where Chrome isn't even supported. Considering that Firefox has a zillion free add-ons, Firefox still offers the best Internet experience.

most firefox problems, including slowness, are caused by buggy extensions. for example if you see firefox eating up lots of memory, try running in safe mode. alternatively you may have visited a site with a memory leak in the javascript code.
