h1. Hi Daisy
Its probably some little piece of script this forum that IE8 dont like and makes it crash.
When they get the new forum software running you probably wont crash no more.

Hey Adama, If you are having that much trouble with IE7 Pro, then dump it. No point in putting up with the aggravation, when you don't have to. Wait for IE 8 Pro. :D

Hey sweetie !!

OK, I'm not having any problems with either now.

I was having problems with the My Wot add-on in

IE8 Beta and RC1 (release candidate) but, I asked

on the My Wot forums and Sami told me to

download the new version that came out at the same

time that IE8 came . No more problems.

I must say that , IE8 or any of the previous versions Never

functioned well for me on THIS site. ALL other sites were OK.

There's also the fact that WE have ALLOT more Options

on PCW when posting a reply . There might be some

and probably is, conflict between IE 6 , 7 , 8 . and this site.

It would ,I presume , also depend on the Add-Ons that one has

in his / her version of IE

Try to uninstall IE7 Pro and see , for a while, if that resolves

your problems. If it doesn't then , you can rule it out and the

problems could be generated from this site . How is it on

OTHER sites ? is it crashing as well or is it stable even while

you are posting ?

I am also trying out a new version of another browser called

Sleipnir and to tell you the truth , it is also acting strangely on

only this site , something like IE . So , try these out and see.

We will try and resolve your issue but, you might have to jump

through some hoops before we get there LOL !!!

I can appreciate that you're very happy with MSFT's assistance, however, you might want to start your own blog about it and then I can get back to get answers on my real problem here.

Thank you. Good advice adama, I shall keep that mind. And will attempt to minimize slightly OT stuff.

Please also consider that you or other members of our PCWorld community having similar problems such as you were experiencing with IE7, might investigate the free and very professional yet optional help available at your fingertips, from Microsoft by simply calling 1.800.microsoft.

Enjoy!

So, even under the good all-mighty Internet Explorer 8 I'M STILL HAVING PROBLEMS! I have the feeling it is directly related to IE7 Pro.

That's me again! X-(

In my opinion, the essence most of problems can be traced back to add-ons and their unknown origins as far as robust engineering and quality control.

Case point was the fix to my IE8 problems were caused by unknown vectors in unacceptable software installed by God knows what kind of software provider, other than Microsoft.

I loathe crappy software. I am not saying IE7 pro is or isn't. I am saying any piece of software that destabilizes otherwise good-enough software is irresponsiblility on the part of the ISV IMHO.

Thanks, I appreciate the suggestion. I've never had these kinds of problems getting here, to this community.

I'm really hesitant about uninstalling/disabling IE7 Pro, because I consider it to be one of the greatest free ad-blockers around, and it was working absolutely great until a few weeks ago, when all these weird things started happening.

I mean, Yahoo's ads have become more and more obnoxious and intrusive, they unroll themselves out unto my email area. I guess Yahoo is really trying to get their free/basic service customers to sign up for the paid one, without the ads, etc. I'm growing more and more disgusted, and incredibly disappointed with them as the days go on.

I know I have other options, like GMail, but I dislike Google tremendously. A couple of years ago I tried having an email account there, but I found it really confusing and I just had to delete my account.

Anyway, I'll take a look at a couple of stand-alone graphic programs I installed, see if they're the cause of the problems.

Hi Adama, Usually through a Cable / DSL service, they will offer a choice of ISP's in addition to their own. With Verizon, I have the Verizon AND MSN Premium. I could have chosen either yahoo Premium or AOL. There is always a catch 22 with those "FREEBIES". I was surprised to hear about Ad blockers, as I haven't been really bothered by them. I get them, but not to the point of being intrusive and spoiling my browsing, and no pop ups at all.
