I have a tough time inserting images in our forum. I click on the insert button and the upload images screen appears, but the box appears asking me to select an image to upload but nothing else. Above that box is an underlined "Uload Images" but clicking on it does nothing. Am I missing something? Or doing something wrong? I have no trouble uploading images on any other forum or attaching images to email or anything else.

Please Advise.

Hey ArcticSid !!

Which browser are you using, which version of that browser

and check in the Add / Remove program to

see if you have the Flash Player version 9 or 10. We have been

having problems with the latest version of Flash Player .

After clicling on the little picture in the tool bar :

You should be getting this next image :

Now, click on the Upload Images link in the pop-up. You should then get this pop-up:

Posted Image

Now choose which image you would like to upload by clicking on the desired image and then

click on the OPEN at the bottom right of the pop-up. This should be the next screen to open :

Posted Image

This is the acquired picture , ready to upload. All you now have to do is , Click on the Insert button.

You should now have the image posted in your post.

Hi Flash Running FPlayer 10 Active X, also listed in add/remove is Octoshape add in for Adobe Flash Player, no clue what that is. Running IE 7.00.6000.20900. I see the screen you showed me but clicking on the underlined "Upload Images" does nothing. Would hope we can figure out a solution, I'd like to share.

Thanks

Hey sid, I think I screwed up there, Check and see wich version of Adobe reader you have installed, if it is 10 then roll it back to 9. Adama, had the same problem. Just unistall 10 and if you have a cleaner use it before downloading and installing Adobe Reader 9. Coastie.

FlashPlayer 10 is the culprit. I had to go back to 9. Firefox 3 also gives problems, but will post the first image in a session. I'm still at Adobe Reader 8, going to the Adobe Website, it shows 9.1 to download (all 41 megabytes of it). I have tried Foxit, but even if I set the printer to duplex it will not in Foxit, but works perfectly in Adobe Reader 8. Oh, Well, such is life.
Since reverting to FlashPlay 9x, and refusing to allow 10 to download and install, I have not had any problems.
We are so looking forward to the new system.
Flashorn, have you considered turning your instructions into a document?

Thats fine and dandy RG, but how do I do it(revert back)?, if I have 10 installed and I go to the Adobe site and ask to download 9 won't it ask me why? Tell me how, I want to go back if thats what you think is causing me problems. I actually use flash quite a bit, I am hooked on funny/stupid videos, but since updating to 10, I can't actually say I seen any noticeable difference between the two. So I have no apprehension in going back to 9.

Thanks, as always.

Nope, you should have no problem "rolling back"...in theory. I am in the process of doing it myself on one computer (I am having the same problem). The first download of Flash 9 had an "issue" so I am trying it again.

Anyway, you toughest problem will likely be finding it...to that end, here is the page with the older versions:

And here is a technical note for removing current version:

BTW, this thread should likely be moved out of General Talk and maybe to PC World Website.

Okay I just removed FP 10, will run CC Cleaner in a second. (I like CCC) seems to do an effective job. I am running reader V. 9.1 And what about this octoshape thing, should I remove it as well, ?

Oh, and killing Flash 10 definitely gave me back the ability to insert pictures! That or my computer knew that I was contemplating this:

okay, just look at CC Cleaner, FP 10 is not listed, however I did notice that reade V6 is. Before I do anything else I am going to try and download FP9 will report back.

Yeah, That was it, and I'm going move this out of here in a minute, before the natives get restless. The 9.1 Download didn't take when I tried it a while back. Something wasn't allowing access to my registry to complete the installation ( probably a security app ).

Before you download, you might see if you can insert an image...you should be able to.

And note that the Flash 9 download that I found does not seem to have a "full" installer. I was able to double-click on the plug in and it seemed to install. Don't know if it works properly...I will have to play with it some...or see if I can find a full installer somewhere. Thus, you might want to temporarily hold off on downloading and installing.

Hi ArcticSid. If I may add something. This may not be a Flash issue after all. I will sit back and just watch for a bit but, if you get the change, please take a look at this Document: {document:id=1144}

Here is what I have found by using various browsers:

- Internet Explorer has the easiest time with inserting images into this Community

- Firefox 3 has the hardest time. One can only insert one image per post by using Firefox 3. There is a bug within the current forum that prevents more than one image in posts submitted via Firefox 3. This is not an issue with Firefox 2.

- Chrome has the an equally as easy of a time with inserting images as Internet Explorer. There have been some system errors but nothing major.

If the issue is not resolved by downgrading to an earlier version of Flash, please give the steps within the Document a try.

While it is no guarantee that it is the same issue, I can say that removing Flash 10 worked for me...and I was having the same problem.

Hey smax, That solution has worked for a lot of folks that has had that problem, Adama included as I remember. Incidently, Congratulations on your new and final ranking of "VETERAN" . I knew you were getting close to the 5000 point mark, and thought I'd check after this post as it occured to me.

Hi Smax. Oh, absolutely. You are correct. Flash 10 has been a thorn in many people's side, including my own, so I am not ruling out the issue altogether. However, I have seen a lot of times where it was not necessarily the system but the process that tripped up people. Just throwing out another possibility.
