Coastie, I can't imagine anyone's not liking Adblock Plus once he's tried it. It makes browsing so much more pleasant. Pages load faster, there's less clutter. less danger of accidentally clicking ads, saves space on the page for what you really want to see (because it moves all content up the page to fill the void created by no ad), and I'm sure someone else could think of more reasons.

I don't mean to push you too hard, but you don't know what you're missing. :)

Hey Number, I just had a flash and i guess i ought to check. I think that MSN has an AD blocker of sorts in here and that is the reason I see very few of them. I know it has one heck of a pop up blocker as I see no pop ups. I went to a site that I knew I had ahad problems with due to pop ups, to the point I couldn't get throuhg those things. with the pop up blocker in here, I had no problems what so ever.

Good call Number. I did as you suggested and I am back in business with Firefox. :D Whoa, what a difference. Some of the junk that I saw while using Chrome versus using Firefox....ugh.

That's interesting, coastie. The blocker worked so well you didn't know you needed it. That's great.

Hey, that's good, mph. What a relief.

And naturally, Google probably won't allow ad blockers because they're advertisers. You'd be surprised how many ads come from doubleclick. I've blocked 3 or 4 just today. I must have deleted a few good necessary filters.

Hey number, I get ads, but they are not intrusive by any means and don't detract from the site that I am visiting. I remember my Brother in Law had AOL and I couldn't tell the site from the ads there were so many. When I had earthlink, it was marginally better. If I go The Weather Channel site, I get the weather , but there are some ads off to the side, but doesn't detract from what I am looking at.

That's what had me scratching my head when everyone was complaining about ads, as I really wasn't experiencing it to the level evryone else seemed to be. This thing does have a Phishing filter as well, but I don't know how much affect, if any, it would have on ads.
