That would probably be helpful too. XD

Also, here are the links to the three main free antivirus vendors:

avast! Free Edition

AVG Free Edition

Avira AntiVir Personal Edition Classic

Thanks Hero, those are very helpful links. I already use siteadvisor, and windows defender came with my pc. Site advisor is very, very helpful. Windows Defender doesn't seem to do much active protecting, So that's why I was looking for a better, more complete antivirus program. Also, is it bad to have to many antivirus/ antispyware programs running at the same time?

Hi, You should only have one of each running actively ( Real Time ). You can have others for additional scans. I am running Avast! & Webroot spysweeper actively, but have SUPERantispyware & Malwarebytes installed for additional scans. coastie

@efreak1 - NEVER run more than one real-time anti-virus program; two or more will conflict with each other and really mess up your computing experience!

On the other hand, two or three real-time anti-spyware programs are, in fact, recommended. I don't recall what AV program you are using but it most likely has (or will have, if you switch) anti-spyware/adware protection. If it helps, here's what I use: Avast! (AV, anti-apyware/adware/rootkit - real-time; Windows Defender (antispyware/anti-rogue program) - real-time; SpywareTerminator (anti-spyware/adware) -real-time (http://www.spywareterminator.com/download/download.aspx), I don't use the Web Security Guard feature; SpywareBlaster, real-time anti-malicious website blocker and malacious cookie blocker. Further, i use Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware (SAS) (both free versions) on demand, weekly or so. If you don't mind paying, SAS real-time along with Avast! and SpywareBlaster would provide you with very good protection.

Best of luck!

Hey Bontiveroz. Just wanted to make sure and put out there that spybot search & destroy is a anit-spyware app, not an anti-virus.

Well, hey, if people were THAT self-reliant, I wouldn't have a future career as a data-security technician, now would I? :p

Well, people seem to be very self-reliant when it comes to throwing a monkey wrench into windoze.

*{font:'Times New Roman','serif'}{size:12pt}{color:#990099}Orbasoft Antispyware is an excellent scanner that I would like
to recommend to everyone. I simply love it. In the past I have tried many
different types of scans. Some of them were free and others cost quite a bit of
money but they all seem to pick up the same types of bugs. The antispyware
solution from Orbasoft is less expensive than most and it will clean your
computer and keep it working great just like the more costly scanners. Click on

learn more about this scan and how it can help you protect your computer

*{font:'Times New Roman','serif'}{size:12pt}{color:red}If you own a computer, you must have antispyware to keep it running
at its best. The problem is choosing a scan that works. I have tried many
different types of scans in the past and then I ran across Orbasoft
Antispyware. I have to say that the antispyware solution from Orbasoft is the
best that I have used to date. It gets the job done and keeps my computer
working like new. If you are interested in seeing for yourself just how good
this antispyware works you can click on {color}{size}{font}

would be worth your time to check it out.*{size}{font}
