Thirty years ago, almost to the day, Congressional sessions could be viewed by the American public via C-Span. It seemed at the time that the government was moving to a more transparent operation.
Seven years later, the Senate got its own cable network.
Come on - I thought Obama was all about "transparency." I'd love to see this issue be taken all the way to the Supreme Court.

Obama isn't going to do anything to further "transparency" except in those things which further political objectives (like "looking good").

In fact, the Obama administration has appointed 5 Federal judges who are former RIAA lackeys.

That's about as far as his "transparency" will go and there's not much anyone can do about it except complain. 8 years of Bush will show you how effective complaining has been.

Banning the Webcast of this trial is just another instance where the government wants to keep things from the public -- letting people see for themselves how the RIAA/MPAA media-conglomerates have the system in their pockets -- that the laws are being used to benefit the big corporations at the expense of John Q. Public.
