I had to reinstalling my OE & it did not install IE 7.0. I have Vista so when i try to install IE 7.0 it wants to install IE 8.0. I do have my original disc as well as a backup that was made. A friend used the original disc to install my OE. How do i get IE 7.0 to install?

How do i know if IE is installed? I'm using att/yahoo as my default browser, if i open IE it looks just like att/yahoo. I have the blue E.

Ok..You sound so confusing .....Why don't you uninstall all other browsers ...so you can square away with IE7 first .....
Check in System file..:
Open Internet Explore .........click on ....iexplore .......Click detail........You will see this....:

Ok.....I don't think we r going anywhere .........
The best solution is to do a system restore back the the point BEFORE you installed any other browsers......(Hope U remember)
www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/
This will put you back to IE7 that came with vista.

If IE is listed in the Start menu, then select it and see what runs. If something opens, then select the "About..." command from the Help menu and see what program it says it is and what version it is.

I uninstalled whatever version of ie i had. I then went to micrsoft & ie 7 is not available for vista, vista was not an option. I used Microsoft "fix it" to uninstall whatever ie i had.
Hi Thomas,
I had to uninstall IE8, just today! It had been giving me sooo many problems that I finally decided to uninstall it.
So, there's absolutely no need to worry, because when you downloaded and installed the FIX IT thing, it uninstalled IE8 and then IE7 is automatically reinstalled in your computer. I just did that, about an hour ago!
You did the right thing. :D
