I keep getting two different secutiry messages, I'm running XP Pro. One says This page has a security risk, do I want to keep running it, and the other one keeps telling me there is a problem with the script on the page I'm on. I'm completly comfortable with the pages I'm on and just want to stop the warnings from popping up every five minutes. Can anyone tell me how to stop them?

Hi Pat and welcome to the forum. As far as the script error thing goes, I haven't found that to be particularly troublesome or worrisome. On the other hand, if you are on a page that has a security risk, I wouldn't be passing any personal information on it as will more than likely be compromised. usually you will have something in the pop up window to check "Do Not Show This message Again " and it will stop it. coastie

using IE7 or IE8 ?

Hey Flashorn, I suspect it is IE as I have gotten those on a couple of rare occasions. Usually that security thing is indicative of a nonencrypted page, although that shouldn't be a problem with just surfing. Usually, with the scripting thing, it is usually a scripting error that can be taken care by a simple page refresh and a nuisance, rather than a major issue.

Hi Pat, That's interesting as i am running IE8 and haven't seen those things. I had seen them once or twice in IE7. Have you gotten all the upates for IE8? there were some out of the box, that could have been missed during installation, as I almost did. coastie

Are you getting those wanings on All web sites you visit or just certain

sites. I ask because this site is notorious for script errors especially

Java .

If you look at the bottom left hand corner of your browser while on this site

do you see this ;

If so then , Double click on the yellow Icon . Is this the message you are getting.





IF it is then, you will have to take the Check Mark away from this Check Box at the

Bottom Left hand corner of the message. Like this :

Try this method and see if , at least this one stops popping up.



As for the other pop-up , this would be a configuration setting in IE .

I know I`ve seen it before but just can`t remember where to re-configure

the setting in question . I will try and locate it.



For now try the other fix to see if it does any good.

Now I know why I am not experiencing IE mishaps. MSN doesn't use it. It is using something called MSN Explorer. :p

Don`t know what you mean . Isn`t MSN a Chat Box of somekind.

Like AIM or other of their kind . I don`t have any on Vista . Don`t have the time .

Hey Flashorn, No. MSN is is my ISP ( MSN Premium). The IM thing is Windows Live Messenger or MSN Messenger. With Verizon FiOS, you have a choice, in addition to Verizon, of MSN Premium, Yahoo, or AOL. Comes with the service. At the top of my Home Page it says MSN Explorer.
