I was on line and downloaded a program that lets you see TV on your computer it is called PCSHOWBUSS when I try to install it the programs gives me a error 1926 could not set file security for file cprogram fileserror 5 verify that you have sufficent privleges to modify the security permissions for this file.

They email me back that I should right click on the root of the c:drive go to properties>secunity. give everyone full control.

Also when installing it make sure I'm loged on as adminisator account with full control.

I don't know why I have to geve everyone full control to install the program will this give the people that I downloaded the program from full accesss to my computer?

Posted Image Hi :

You would NOT find me downloading, much less trying to use, such a dubious program .

How much investigating did you do, if any, BEFORE downloading it !? A quick Google

search turned up www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/189/ripoff0189902.htm . And the

same Google search shows many undesirable "crack" or "keygen" versions, which would

put bad "malware" on a computer . Recommend you completely remove everything of that

"program" from your computer .

Good Idea and I would use something like REVOuninstaller to make sure you have gotten it all. A Follow up with CCleaner is always good as well. Might be a little over kill, but better safe than sorry. coastie

Hi when I had tryed to install the program it would not install because of the errors and it told that no changes had been made to my computer. I have deleter the file off my computer and will not install it at all. I did a searth for the program and fould out it is no good it is a rip off. I have run AVG scand on my computer and it didn't find anything I also ran ad-ware and spybot and they didn't find anythind at all I will now go run windows live care one to see if it finds anything but I don't think it will because the program didn't install.

I think I have learn something throw this before I download anything off the web I will run a search on it and then go from there as to download it or not.

Thanks for all the help

Hey David, Unfortunately, sometimes those learning experiences can be pretty painful. Just remember, Google Is your Friend. coastie

David, if you charged that on your credit card, you may want to protest the charges. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
