Wow, Car!!!
How the heck have you been??! I haven't seen you in ages and ages! Hope life is treating you well. :D
Thanks for the info on the icons. Right now I'm just trying to figure out a couple of things.... Where the heck are the tabs? And, how do I insert a live link to PCW? :0 X-(

Or, you can right click on an open area of your Firefox bar, and click the Customize "link"
1!
And then with the options you have, you can choose the Open New Tab icon, and grab it with the little hand and drag it to where you want it. This way when you want to open a new tab, you can just click that icon once (you can also double click the tab bar to open a new tab)

If you want just the "raw" link (i.e. you see the whole address not some "other" text that is linked to the address), then type in or paste in the FULL web address including the http bit.
For example:
http://www.pcworld.com
That should appear as live link...we will see when I hit "Post Message". (Note: using Firefox on my Mac)
The other way is to use the little chain icon, just like in IE. This should open a window that gives you various options to put in links.

LOL To tell you the truth, I really don't know what Ubuntu is all about. I've seen a lot of people here talk about it, but I guess I never paid too much attention.
It is a Linux distro and it has a somewhat small, but vocal following (much like Macs). In many ways, it is a much better OS than Windoze (it "followers" certainly believe that to be true). While Linux has become more and more "general public" friendly, it can still be a bit of a hassle to deal with at times. Thus, I am not sure I fully consider it ready for use by the "run of the mill" computer user.

Hi Car!
I don't get the pics posted when I get my email notifs, so I'm so glad that I came back to check on what you and Smax talked about. I did what you suggested and now I have a cool green cross on a folder, in my FF bar.
Thanks for the great mini-tut!! :) :D :x

Or you can right-click on a link on a page and select the "Open Link in New Tab" in the drop down menu that appears (same as IE).
Hi Smax,
This was a good suggestion too, thank you! I forgot that I had a right-click option/thingy I can check... silly me. :p

Hi again,
Yeah, I do know about adding the http thing. But what I wanted to do was insert a link to a word that you can click - using the chain link - the way I used to do it in IE7. I tried to do it the other day, with no success.
Ok.... looks like I'll be learning something new about FF every day. :)

lol, glad you got that quick tab dealie up and running. :)
Forgive me if I don't understand exactly what your looking for, but is the feature you mean when you can highlight a word, and right click it to do a search of that word, in this case Kindle? (partially hidden under the box)
By the way Adama, thank you that you always take the time to acknowledge peoples helps, and you are very kind and encouraging. :)
