How to delete windows

Several years ago there was an article in PCWorld that told how to delete windows so a clean re-install could be done. Can anyone help me find that article so I may print it.Paul

Use search option on Home page and you'll find if it's available if not then ask PC world.

Simply install windows in a normal way.. format C drive before installing windows.

Yes... typically to "delete" windows, you would enter into a normal re installation of windows and then format the hard drive it is installed, typically C: drive and then proceed with installing.

This is a very, very old thread, from way back in 2006. All the information given back then is mostly obsolete now, since Vista came out. Now we have the new and improved Windows 7, IE 9, etc., etc.

When you install Windows to select to do a clean install and format the drive. That deletes everything on the partition.

Install your windows again and when it comes to the partitions selected, format the partitions what you want. Yeah, this is the easiest way.
Tips: Before you format the disk, you should move your important files out there. That is it

is it delete windows? as in deleting a file or uninstalling/formatting the drive to have a clean one

What you need to do before installing a new Windows is:

Windows XP:

While installation, when it shows the Drive options, select the partition containing windows previous installation (mostly C: )

go accordingly and let the partition format then install a fresh copy of Windows.

when you click the drive containing windows installation, it will highlight an option below Drive Options. Further,it will give an option to format this Drive. Then make a clean and fresh windows Installation.
