But, if it is not working, then Outlook Express will work.
Here are some instructions for setting up Outlook Express with Gmail:

Yep...assuming you got everything setup right in Outlook Express, you should be good to go. Go ahead and test it out. If it does not work, then let us know and we will see if we can track down the problem.

In the mean time, maybe someone else will come along to help.
Also, you might want to look at this document to learn how to put screenshots up on the forum:

If you are able to put up screenshots, then that might help us troubleshoot.

OK, in Outlook Express...when you go to the Tools menu and select the Accounts... item, you should get a window called Internet Accounts. Click on the Mail tab. How many accounts are listed in on that tab in the window? Can you post a screenshot using the instructions that I provided?

I believe that should solve it. Give it a try with Craig's List now.

It did likely work. The problem is that you appear to have two email accounts "setup" in Outlook Express. At least, that is what is implied by this statement from your ealier post:
"What it said when I went into "Mail" was 1) My name, and 2) Pop.email acct. "
Basically, you solved the problem of Outlook Express selecting the right account when you click the link on the webpage...you did that by setting the "Pop.email" account as the "default" account. Thus, when you clicked on the link on the Craig's List page, it opened a new message window using the "Pop.email" account. You should have been able to type your message to the seller and then when you hit the "send" button, it appears to have successfully sent the message (if it had not, then you would have gotten both an error message...AND the message would still be in the Outbox rather than the Sent Items box).
The problem is with the second account. Everytime Outlook Express goes to check for new email, it will check BOTH accounts. And it appears that the other email account is not fully setup...i.e. the correct email user ID and password are not entered into the account settings for it. Thus, it asks for that information. And when you give it the Gmail account user ID and password, the reason it is not working is because it is an account set to check a YAHOO server (if I recall correctly). The way to solve that is to delete that account. Go back to the Accounts... item under the Tools menu and select the Mail tab in the windows that opens up. Once you are there, click on the item that says "My name" and then click on the Remove button. It might ask you to confirm...if so, click on the option to confirm that you want to delete it. This should leave ONLY the "Pop.email" account listed. Once that is the case, you should be good to go.
