PC World Forums: NEW VIDEO CARD INSTALLED - PC World Forums

The day is gray and showery, so decided to install my new video card. It wasn't high on my list of priorities, as the evga 8600GT was doing just fine. The one thing I have noticed is it that it runs a bit cooler than the 860GT for some reason. I disabled the PHYSX as I have nothing that supports it anyway. Besides, I think it is something that is probably DX10 related, rather than DX9c that I have with XP MCE 2005. After installing the drivers and rebooting, it maxed the resolution, which id the native res of the monitor 1680x1050. Boy, did the print and icons shrink. I reset it to 1024x768 for the time being. Anyway, all is good. coastie
