I downloaded the audio driver from the Gigabyte website. My mother board number is 'GA-81865 GME 775' . When i tried to install the PC automatically restarted without completing the installation!
I've been searching for a solution to this for quite a long time now but couldn't find any.I'm helpless.
Suggestions,Help and advice are most welcome!

Are you sure it is just a GA-8I865 GME 775? (note it is an "I" as in "eye" not a 1)
Or could it be a GA-8I865 GME 775-RH? Or could it be a GA-8I865 GME 775-RH-AS? And if one of those those two, which version/revision is it?
It does appear that they all might use the same drivers, but I did not check them all.
Which driver did you download? The chipset one? I did not see a driver specifically for audio.

Can't tell you why your computer rebooted automatically without fully diagnosing it. However, there are usually system disks shipped with every computer, and some for your build too, but I'm going to assume that this is out of reach and online drivers are our only chance now.

I actually formatted my PC and all the drivers are gone. The only problem now is the installation of sound driver.
This is where i downloaded it from. www.gigabyte.fr/Support/Motherboard/Driver[uModel.aspx?ProductID=2223&ost=xp#anchor[/u]os]
I had the soundmax software installed before and it worked fine.I updated my PC using the windows update and haven't tried intallation after this update. Is it possible that windows update might help the installation complete. Are there any other programs that may be interrupting in the installation process.

Since this hasn't been brought up yet- what operating system are you running? There are several versions of the audio software available on the gigabyte web site, and all are for different OS models.
Running Windows Update will have no effect on driver installation.

Couple of questions:
1) are you using the latest version of the BIOS?
2) Have you tried to use the older versions of the driver?
3) Have you tried to see if in the global website (http://www.giga-byte.com/Support/Motherboard/Driver_List.aspx) you can get a newer version?

Not completely true. Windows Update will offer updated drivers if the Microsoft system has any for your hardware. They are Optional updates, so they are not set to be done unless you choose to do them (as opposed to Recommended or High Priorty updates which selected to be done by default...i.e. they will be installed unless you deliberately "uncheck" them).
