have really enjoyed your magazine and have learned a lot from it. I have even sent a gift subscription to my brother in law for a couple of years now. I would like your input on a problem i am having. I have Windows XP SP3 Home and have lots of security. I have McAfee Security Suite provided by AOL. I have Secunia PSI, Malware, Adware,CCleaner,Eusing Free Registry. The problem i am having is with Musicmatch Jukebox which came on my computer and have been using it for quite awhile. Just recently it gives me a error Microsoft Visual C Runtime Library when i try to burn a cd. I can put in an audio cd and the player comes up and plays fine. I can rip the cd to my hard drive fine, but will fail on burn.I have uninstalled and re installed the program with the same results See the attachment for the error message. It says Microsoft Visual C Runtime Library Runtime error Program:cprogram filesmusicmatchmusicmatchjukeboxmmjbburn.exe. abnormal program termination. Please contact the application's support team for more information. I sent an email to microsoft and they had me to go into start>run>msconfig and remove all services and startups to see if that would help and i still get the same results.I contacted Dell and he took control of my computer and worked on it about an hour and said that i would have to reinstall the OS.after reading this moths magazine I now that that is the last resort. Do you have any other suggestions? I would hate to have to reinstall XP Thank you for any help with this matter Buddy Yearwood

Your best bet would be to contact Yahoo (who now owns MusicMatch). I have not had good experience with their support for MusicMatch, so I am kind of skeptical they will solve it...but it does not hurt to try.

Buddy,
Have you installed any other type of software that burns disc?
I enjoy Roxio 5 platunum.
Upgraded to Roxio creator 9. It forced me to remove platinum 5.
Hated 9, unistalled it reinstalled 5.
5 would say it burned my music in 1 second flat which I knew was a lie, then an error popped.
Even though 9 was unistalled it left crap in my regisrty that screwed up 5.
A "clean unistall" was needed. To many steps so I did reformat for the sake of 5.
I couldn't part with its cross fade interface.
Thats way I am asking about any other software for burning that you may have installed.
Perhaps you could try a system restore to the last known time it was working?

I found this link on google, I hope somehow it will help you.

If you have not done this try the following.

START/CONTROL PANEL/PERFORMANCE & MAINTENANCE/ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS/EVENT VIEWER/APPLICATION.

Your error will show there and perhaps give more info to help give you a direction to a solution.

Thanks for your reply. I have installed Roxio 5 Platunum and it works just fine. I liked Musicmatch for the volume leveling.

Sometimes installing multiple programs that can burn CDs or DVDs can create conflicts. I don't believe this is likely the case here, but it could be. You might try removing Roxio temporarily to see if it helps. If it does, then you will have to decide if Roxio or MusicMatch is more important. If it does not, then we will have to keep looking.
