Saw an annoucement on bitdefender's forum that said the beta campaign will start soon and that the discussions will take place on here: http://forum.malware...hp?showforum=34
The thing is I googled some pictures and found an article here http://devirusare.co...recom-exclusiv/ and I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is really gonna' look like this. Seems like it has some Norton parts in it :))

I think allot of them are getting that same dashboard look. :-) IMHO, BitDefender used to be pretty good, but I think they have tried to do to much, trying to do allot, but just not very good, you know, "a jack of all trades, a master of none".
Here is a link of the performance of the 2009 versions of the Security Suites from PC Magazine.

Don't get me wrong, I will test the beta when it comes out, and I'm pretty sure it will look like the pictures you linked to, as they usually don't change the GUI, once they get that set up, but will usually just tweak what's under the hood, and make some minor update/repairs.

The beta version is now available at http://beta.bitdefender.com and has some new thingies like:
* Architecture designed for better performance
* 30% faster on-access scanning compared to BitDefender 2009
* 20 second shorter boot time compared to that of BitDefender 2009
* behavioral Scanner: new from BitDefender Labs, this technology watches processes on a host machine as they execute and flags them as potentially harmful if they are a match for malware behavior.
And many more...
