NEVER heard of it. Most people on these forums recommend Avast.

Posted Image Hi :
Have a very faint memory concerning "Paretologic" ; a Google "Search" reveals many

undesirable "crack" or "warez" versions available over the net so I hope you avoided all

of them !? A "trial" implies that you will be expected to BUY after the "trial" ends ; no need

to do that when there are a couple of very good FREE antiVIRUS programs available, such

as Avast Home Edition ; Info on this program is available at

http://www.avast.com...tispyware.html] .

When it comes to looking into the performance of an antiVIRUS program, it would be wise

to check the "Comparatives" section at [http://www.av-comparatives.org
.

And to complement an antiVIRUS program, would be wise to use antiSPYWARE/

antiTROJAN program(s), such as Malwrebytes' Anti-Malware and "SUPERAntiSpyware" .

Spirit Wind,

Thanks for the info! I have used Pareto Logic - Reg Cure and liked it and found this and thought I would try it. I have been using AVG 8.0 but I noticed that there were still some things it did not catch. This seems to have caught those and cleaned a trojan and some worms. I do not have to buy it. I keep seeing evrything about Avast and will look into it!

Thanks again!

Spirit Wind,

I did take your advice and did a google search and here are some of the reviews I found:

www.brighthub.com/computing/smb-security/reviews/34289.aspx

but, I did not find the "crack" or "warez" versions that you mentioned. Of course, I have no idea what that means! LOL

Hey Gracie !!

Welcome to PCWorld Community !!

When it comes to Antivirus, it would be wise to follow the advice of Spirit !

You also have another option for a Free Antivirus . Avira Antivir .You can

read about it by clicking on the Blue Avira. If you are interested in downloading,

this is the one you should install :

Avira AntiVir Personal - FREE Antivirus, Version 9 :[/color]

Posted Imagedlce.antivir.com/package/wks[uavira/win32/en/pecl/avira[/u]antivirpersonalen.exe]
28.68 MB

As for Registry Cleaners , I would Not and do Not recommend them . Unless you are able to recognize every entry that RegCure wants to delete then , plz stay away. They will , in the short term , harm your Operating System.

A crack or keygen is what is used to find a Key to unlock a paid for application. In other words , you would be downloading and installing a Pirated Copy of the Paid For software.

Hey Gracie !!

It's my pleasure !

If you are to change Antivirus application and would like some help,

start a new discussion in Privacy & Security . We will be more than

happy to help in any way we can. PLZ do not start uninstalling your

present security programs without first downloading ALL of the needed

applications and THEN go off line to do the actual work.

Like I said , if you need further assistance , do not hesitate to ask .

{font:'Times New Roman','serif'}{size:12pt}{color:#b00d00}I was very happy that I found the antispyware solution from Orbasoft
({color}{size}{font}[{font:'Times New Roman','serif'}{size:12pt}http://www.orbasoft.com{size}{font}{font:'Times New Roman','serif'}{size:12pt})
to help me rid my PC from the bugs that threaten its overall performance. I’m
sure that you already know that when you search the wide world of cyberspace
you pick up spyware and viruses that can make your computer run slow and
sluggish. Over time, it will completely stop working if you don’t find a good
scan to prevent this from happening and the Orbasoft Antispyware is one of the
best I’ve found so far. I love it and I’m sure you will too.

:( Bad news from them, just stay away, remove any files from your computer, make sure all are gone, and stay with a trusted, and good security utuity.

I have tried a few, and have stayed in the end with McAffee. Have a great day!! Oracle.

Further to the fine advice my friends have given, you should also get the free version of ZoneAlarm personal firewall to ad to your defenses.
