problem with iternet browser

i strarted my computer this morning it said i had a spyware program trying to run. now when i try to get on a site it comes up browser-security.microsoft.com. then it goes to 404 not found.i have macafee 2009 total protection installed. anyone have any ideas what i should do?

Hi Jimmy, My guess is it is a problem with McAfee. There are not many fans of McAfee or Norton around here. You can try an uninstall and reinstall of McAfee. In order to do this, use ADD/ Remove Programs in the control panel and then go to McAfee's site and get their removal tool to complete the job. Then you can reinstall and update it and see if that helps. coastie

IF possible, would try using the FREE Version of both Malwarebytes' AntiMalware and

"SUPERAntiSpyware" .

Avast Professional Edition .....: For AV and Spyware ...Fulltime monitoring ....IMO
