Each new version of Sony Vegas Pro has tightened the noose around the neck of consumer's rights. Version 8 stopped recognizing .mpg video legitimately captured from over the air transmissions but it would recognise .ts captured audio/video. Version 9 instead of recognizing and working with an expanded array of video formats reduced the number of formats it will work with. It no longer recognises .ts audio/video files. Maybe its' loss with Betamax caused it to turn to the dark side of proprietary controlling media drug pushers. The promise of technology and the internet expanding everyone's freedoms and equal rights seems to be changing from a dream to a controlled brain feed nightmare similar to the worlds depicted in the movie, "Brazil" and the novels "1984" and "Brave New World".

Stay away from Sony Vegas 9.
