Hey Evevryone !!
It has just been over a week since I`m back online with a new ISP and a 10MB line (cable).
I was Offline for 9 or 10 days so, I have been doing allot of surfing trying to get back in the
swing of things, so to speak.
Yesterday , I was visiting a favorite of mine : dottech.org/ when I noticed that Ashraf ,
a reviewer , had this utility up for a free download . He was able to acquire a license for a
this Pay For software that has so much info. that you just have to read the review . You can
also take advantage of this offer as Ashraf was able to convince company to make this offer
for all his readers.
You can read the review and see if this is worth your while or not. [http://dottech.org/headline/7292] .
I have installed and registered the product with the available key and is now happily residing
in my notebook. (Vista 32bit). It is also recommended for XP.
Here are the System Requirements :
|h1. Requirements|
Supported operation systems:
* Windows XP 32/64-bit
* Windows Vista 32/64-bit
* Windows 2003 / 2008
* Windows 7 32/64-bit
Following features require admin rights:
* HDD temperature monitor
* Network traffic monitor
Software also works on following obsolete operation systems, but some features may be disabled:
* Windows 98
* Windows 2000
* Windows Me
So, if you`re curious about what is running and how to optimize the startup plus a wealth of
other info. you should definitely take advantage of this offer. To read more about this program
here is the address of the software in question. :[http://www.anvir.com/] .
I must however , warn you that upon installation , at one point , you will be prompted to install
these two toolbars. Yahoo Tollbar and Dealio Toolbar. Simply Uncheck the check boxes to NOT
install . The rest of the installation is a normal install.

Based on a Thread on the Wilders Security Forums ( www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=238732 )
some CAUTION needs to be used as to WHERE One gets this program !?
According to "lordpake" in that Thread, should be downloaded from "official site" and
not sure IF "Ashraf" allegedly getting a license falls into this "Category" !?
Have you run your security scanners and IF "Yes", has there been a "Detection" ?

Hey Spirit !!
Thanks for your concern. I have seen Lordpake's comment on the W.O.T.
site's scorcard : www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/anvir.com .
Yes I have also scanned the installer with both Avira and MalwareBytes with
no detection. I have re-scanned the installer from Ashraf's site with MalwareBytes.
here is the log :

And from Avira :
As for Ahsraf, I have downloaded the installer from his site and it is free of
any infected files. I have been a reader of Ashraf's reviews for quite some time
and have always found his reviews to be without bias. If you leave a comment or
ask a question he will answer you to the best of his knowledge.
There is one aspect of the installer I did not mention and should have. When the software
installs , you will be prompted to accept the installation of both of these toolbars which
you should decline. They consist of the Yahoo Toolbar and the Dealio Toolbar. PLZ ,
Uncheck those check boxes. I will add this info. to my original post.

Hey Spirit !!
The Security Suite has been under fire on some Forums.
It has to do with it's ability to detect. I would NOT promote
the Suite . OTH , I think this version of their Task Manager
ALONE is well worth the download. Like I mentioned to
techie, I have been using this for only two Days but, so far
it has alerted me to some proceeses on start up that were
not suppose too.
As for hpHost , Steve and I are dicussing this very topic. I also
posted this software on W.O.T. and from their responces well,
you might want to take a look at the thread :
http://www.mywot.com...sk-manager-free .
Let me know , one way or the other.

:D Hi Flash :
That link to to mywot Forums ( did not know they existed, though I do NOT use that )
provided some interesting Info by both Steve's . Steven Burn of hpHosts provided a link
to a Thread he started on the Malwarebytes Forum in Oct 2008 about the "Task Manager"
program giving False-Positives, so I hope you "confirmed" those processes that are not
supposed to "start up" !? Bleepingcomputer.com has an excellent "Section" about
"Processes", though a Google "Search" might be wise as well .

Hey Spirit !!
Thanks for taking the time to look at the WOT thread. I hope you
enjoyed the forum. We could use another expert voice? Like I said to
Steven Burns, his thread on MalwareBytes does not pertain to this
application. Steve was talking about the Suite and not the lone
Task manager that is offered by Ahsraf. I think he also mentioned
that he was (when time permits) going to take a fresh look at the
program.
I didn't have to Google the entries that AnVir warned me of. They were
from the Google Toolbar Notifier (two of them) that I had previously
unchecked in Both msconfig and WinPatrol. Usually, msconfig.
does a good job of stopping these at startup. I even disabled both
in WinPatrol but, WinPatrol warns that it might not be able to stop
some processes from starting at Boot.
Yes, I consult Bleepingcomputers
when I can't recognize a process. We do have a plethora of experts on
our side even though the web is getting increasingly hostile.
On the subject of hostile, have you verified your link to MalwareBytes today :
http://www.malwarebytes.org/index.php .
If you are going to Google MalwareBytes , be aware that the first Three links in
a search will bring up these infected sites : They are Sponsored Links.
PLEASE be careful : I have deadened the link by precaution. Just replace the XX with tt
hxxp://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=malwarebytes+anti-malware&aq=1&oq=malwar&fp=Li-R6mbKWrc .
My bookmarked link for MalwareBytes , which I normally use, redirects me to this site. (not malicious) :
http://www.ghacks.ne...s-anti-malware/ .
The Icon in the Adrress bar is still the Eye of MalwareBytes but, this is the site I end up on.
Again , thanks for your time Spirit !

When I occasinally go to the Malwarebytes Site, I start at http://www.malwarebytes.org/] .
I was just there and saw the following posted :
"COMMUNITY UPDATE! - May 18, 2009
Malwarebytes.org is being maliciously targeted by spam bots who demand in an email that our linking partners remove links to the our website in an effort to hurt our search engine rankings. These spam emails are fraudulent and not from us and we encourage you, our community, to spread the word and add links to us and to continue promoting our products across the Internet.
