It has just been over a week since I`m back online with a new ISP and a 10MB line (cable).

I was Offline for 9 or 10 days so, I have been doing allot of surfing trying to get back in the

swing of things, so to speak.

Based on a Thread on the Wilders Security Forums ( www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=238732 )

some CAUTION needs to be used as to WHERE One gets this program !?

According to "lordpake" in that Thread, should be downloaded from "official site" and

not sure IF "Ashraf" allegedly getting a license falls into this "Category" !?

Have you run your security scanners and IF "Yes", has there been a "Detection" ?

Yes I have also scanned the installer with both Avira and MalwareBytes with

no detection. I have re-scanned the installer from Ashraf's site with MalwareBytes.

As for Ahsraf, I have downloaded the installer from his site and it is free of

any infected files. I have been a reader of Ashraf's reviews for quite some time

and have always found his reviews to be without bias. If you leave a comment or

ask a question he will answer you to the best of his knowledge.



There is one aspect of the installer I did not mention and should have. When the software

installs , you will be prompted to accept the installation of both of these toolbars which

you should decline. They consist of the Yahoo Toolbar and the Dealio Toolbar. PLZ ,

Uncheck those check boxes. I will add this info. to my original post.

While doing a Google "search", I did see a "AnVir Virus Destroyer" & "AnVir Security Suite",

the latter is currently on the anvir.com Site . So I wonder why the reliable hpHosts program

seems to have them in their "banned" sites database !?

You will just have to take a look for yourself .

I have only been using it for two days so I can't

say much right now but , yes, it's better and has

a whole bunch of options in the same app.

Hey Spirit !!



The Security Suite has been under fire on some Forums.

It has to do with it's ability to detect. I would NOT promote

the Suite . OTH , I think this version of their Task Manager

ALONE is well worth the download. Like I mentioned to

techie, I have been using this for only two Days but, so far

it has alerted me to some proceeses on start up that were

not suppose too.



As for hpHost , Steve and I are dicussing this very topic. I also

posted this software on W.O.T. and from their responces well,

you might want to take a look at the thread :

That link to to mywot Forums ( did not know they existed, though I do NOT use that )

provided some interesting Info by both Steve's . Steven Burn of hpHosts provided a link

to a Thread he started on the Malwarebytes Forum in Oct 2008 about the "Task Manager"

program giving False-Positives, so I hope you "confirmed" those processes that are not

supposed to "start up" !? Bleepingcomputer.com has an excellent "Section" about

"Processes", though a Google "Search" might be wise as well .

Thanks for taking the time to look at the WOT thread. I hope you

enjoyed the forum. We could use another expert voice? Like I said to

Steven Burns, his thread on MalwareBytes does not pertain to this

application. Steve was talking about the Suite and not the lone

Task manager that is offered by Ahsraf. I think he also mentioned

that he was (when time permits) going to take a fresh look at the

program.



I didn't have to Google the entries that AnVir warned me of. They were

from the Google Toolbar Notifier (two of them) that I had previously

unchecked in Both msconfig and WinPatrol. Usually, msconfig.

does a good job of stopping these at startup. I even disabled both

in WinPatrol but, WinPatrol warns that it might not be able to stop

some processes from starting at Boot.

Yes, I consult Bleepingcomputers

when I can't recognize a process. We do have a plethora of experts on

our side even though the web is getting increasingly hostile.



On the subject of hostile, have you verified your link to MalwareBytes today :

If you are going to Google MalwareBytes , be aware that the first Three links in

a search will bring up these infected sites : They are Sponsored Links.
