First download and install it to a non problematic computer. Than go into your program files and find the malwarebytes file. Send that whole file/folder and only that file/folder to your flash drive. Then plug the flash drive into the problematic compter and find the part of the file that will open Malwarebytes. Then scan. Please be very careful with this method. Do not modify or delete anything in your program files.
can someone please help!!

While downloading, you could have downloaded a rogue and I said COULD have and it could have slipped past your security programs. Sometimes, the best option is the least desirable and that is a reformat and reinstall of the operating system and drivers. If you have a recovery CD as provided by some manufacturers, or made one up, then it does take some of the sting out of it, if don't have any critical stuff on there. coastie

So true. If you want to try an Antivirus app with this method, you could try but I can't say how effective this would be as the only programs I have used this way are Picasa and Paint.net. I tried Open Office but it was a disaster. Malwarebytes should work.I don''t see why not. However a AV just has so many components that it might mess you up even further. ?:| Oh and if you want Avast after the problem is cleaned up, I think I left a link.
