Saving .jpg file in MS Picture It! 2000 on MS XP Serv Pack 3 Computer

After installing MS Picture It! 2000 on my computer, I am having trouble saving a file in .jpg extension format. I can edit and create a Picture It Format, but when I go to save it to .jpg nothing happens and it is not saved to the directed folder? I have the program on several computers with NO problem like this, but I do note that as I am saving the file, the program puts a comma after .jpg such as .jpg, and blinks as you hit enter with NO svaing of a .jpg file! Any ideas, I have taken SO MUCH time to find out why this is happening, I'm going NUTS!
