Cool you can not edit... love it! ;-)

You can edit...after you have posted a few more times. The forum software is setup to not allow new users to edit their posts. After you reach a certain level, you will be able to edit. I believe this is intended to help prevent spammer from putting back in spam content since most spammers will create an account that they only use a couple of times.

By reading his other reviews, I have come to believe that David Coursey's paychecks are signed "Steve Jobs".

Why PC World doesn’t puts up the 187 Negatives instead of the 26 Positives next to the article’s title? This type of drivel deserves it!

Do you mean the 187 other redundant, negatives that go something linke "OMG Apple will never allow Pre to sync to iTunes, so the phone has already failed!"?

Hi there, long time reader, first time poster here at pcworld.First of all I would like to say that I really don't agree with this particullar artical at all.You may say that I'm biased due that I'm getting a palm pre in a week, but let me also say I'm also a HUGE apple fan with a iMac, a Macbook, two personal iPods, and a iPhone. I really don't see how any of the five points work out at all.

5-What's your point.Sure, Palm has had it's share of ups and downs in the past, what company hasn't?
4-If you can tell me one phone currently on the market that tackles multi-tasking any where like the "card" system the pre uses then I will gladly be proven wrong.
3-Actually I think palm will continue with the whole "app" thing due to the fact that apple made theirs such a hit.Sure they only have 12 apps today, but it was released like 14 days ago!Call me crazy, bu I have faith with the palm pre applicaions.
2-For the iPhone I must say I have gotten used to the keyboard and really have grown to loving it.With that being said, I still prefer a physical keyboard.Just an opinion ,but I think most people will agree with me here.
1-Hmmm,you may be right here, but I think the'll do apsolutly fine with the demand. And for your whole 6 month theory all have to say is that's pretty obvisios. The only phone that's been able to keep up it's fame for that long is really the iPhone.

Well there you have it. And may I add I am happily willing to argue my point with anyone who would like to.

P.S.-About the whole iTunes deal, syncing is still working today, (6/20/09), but apple has lead suspisions of releasing a new version of iTunes that is incapable of sycing with the pre have surfaced, so if an update for iTunes comes out, and you would like to continue sycing with iTunes I wouldn't update.

Here are two observations:
1. When I picked up my new Pre the person who helped me told me the Pre was much cooler that her iphone.
2. Cam Plam make enough to keep up with demand (This is the big one)

The big question you should ask now is can palm catch up with the Iphone 3Gs sales of 1MILLION units sold released today By CNBC and CNN I don't think so with 50,000 to 100,000 opening weekend sales so they've already lost that war. i think they need to get it together for the Verizon release and hope for the best

Here is what you fail to understand, the Pre soft launched on June 6th, in one country, no prior TV AD's. Over 100,000 Pre's sold in the first several days. That is great for a 1st generation device and OS. The iphone 3GS launched in 8 countries, with TV AD's, if you break that 1 million down by average, that is only 125,000 per each country. You cannot compare, what is essentially a worldwide launch, to a US exclusive launch.

What you fail to realize is theat palm did not sell 100,00 units most of the experts say that the units sold were between 50,000 and 90,000 and they still refuse to release the official numbers and then CNBC's financial experts aswell as furtune magazine are reporting that they refuse to relaese the numbers because Palm and Sprint are less then excited and then they also said that 15% of there stock has been returned because they were returned to stores and need to be repaired. And also Palm could not release in any other country because the could not get the units to sell they were hoping to get good sales on launch to finace to sales for over seas vendors.

I realize this is a little after-the-fact, but I've only just discovered the thread.

Willing to early term from Alltel (now Verizon) I was first in line to purchase the Pre. My only hesitation was the Sprint network.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THAT PHONE! Note the past-tense, because I had to return it. Confirming my hesitations, I had 4 dropped calls in less than 15 minutes, and no signal at my home.

Turns out that Verizon is getting the phone, but now that I've actually had the phone in my hands, I can barely wait until then. I only wonder why Palm didn't negotiate with Verizon instead of Sprint.

The phone was suprizingly well-build and solid. The touchscreen was very sensitive and accurate. The crispness of the resolution nothing short of gorgious! For me, the keyboard was OK, but I would be interested in a touchboard app.

Just got my Pre on Sunday and all I can say is WOW! I much prefer it to the Iphone - the multitasking features are awesome and the the resolution is truly beautiful- only knock from me is the lack of the memory card slot - love a phsical keyboard over the TS variety - this phone rocks!

Having an iphone on ATT service, is like driving a Ferrari using regular unleaded fuel (it will not run well!). The Pre is a new and awesome product, and if the same apps were available, i can see some pretty strong competition. and sprint has some great fuel!

1st off, we need to stay out of the past and look towards the future. everyone making assumptions about how palm did over the years and how that will effect he palm pre. The thing is, this system is brand new and palm is keeping every aspect to differ from the iphone. Service plus functuality. People is talkin about palm s physical keyboard, A hint to everyone...a vituaal keyboard is in progress as we speak . Mutitasking is a HUG over the board win for the pre over the iphone, try having to web browsers open at the same time on the iphone, wont work. Another thing, apps on the iphone triples ours big time, BUT palm have many apps that have alreadii been created and will be released soon all at once 2 show how the PRE hav progressed. You tell me that the pre is not on the iclone, i mean iphone level. WHAT!!!! if not, then tell me why many of your iphone customers switched to sprint just to get the palm( and is pleased). Oh yeah, the palm is not going to be JUST on sprint for long. comment me on that
