I know that one can go to system tools, then to character map, and get it from there, but there is a method that one can use from the key board can any one assist me on this one please..

See if this helps:

http://tlt.its.psu.e...ts/codealt.html

If you do not want to scroll down to it, then the answer is...hold down the ALT key and type in "0169" while holding down the ALT key and when done typing that in, release the ALT key. That should do it.

Here?s an easier way:

Hold down Shift and type ( . Then type C. Then hold down shift and type ) . This will create a ?.

Might be easier to remember, but I would offer that it is not necessarily easier/quicker to do.

AND I am not sure that is a "universal" method. It will certainly work in Microsoft Word as I believe the "smart formatting" function will replace it with a ? (note I could only get here than with the ALT code, NOT with the method you offered...doing it your way got me exactly what I typed). Thus, if the original poster is only trying to do it in Word (and maybe the other Office products), then it might be enough. But, if they are trying to do it elsewhere, then I am not sure it will work.

We all have our own "boxes" we "think" within...and I have always found that it helps me to have someone who has a different "box" to look at what I say in case I was just stuck in my "box" and did not see something that someone else might see.

In this case it helps that "auto formatting" in Word tends to annoy me (call me "set in my ways" :D ) enough that I turn it off for most stuff, so it tends to "stick" in my head...which is probably the only reason I thought of it here.

Definitely.

I've also been caught up by the auto-correct sometimes, but feel it's one of those "things" that the "normal" PC user probably is better off with on their system.

Cheers mate,
