"We loved the Palm Pre's breezy card visualization of handling multiple open applications without it being a drain on performance or battery life"
The Pre is a beautiful phone, but this statement is rubbish. Multiple open applications tax both the battery life and performance.

I just want one thing that I believe should of been included in this update.
AVRCP support for bluetooth! It's nice that we have stereo sound, but we can't control anything correctly!!! (i.e. music skip/back does not work).
I just purchased a Plantronics Voyager 855 headset and the controls do not all work. After researching on the web, MANY people have this same issue. You would think that AVRCP support would just be included with this type of bluetooth support.... how disappointing.

The one (missing) feature I don't see anyone harping on is the implementation of any type of "BACK" button. Why must returning to an App be a two or sometimes three step process. Take Google search for example. After you enter a search, web results appear. Once you click a link, you are transferred to Safari to view the page... but there is no easy way to return to the search results. You must do the following steps instead:
1 - push Home button
2 - tap Google
3 - re-click original Search entry
This is common with many Apps, such as email, or any App that links you outside itself. It's baffling that no BACK feature has been considered as of now. PLEASE APPLE - implement some sort of BACK feature to take me back to the last App I was in!!!!!!!

In the text message part of the iphone i wish it had the ability to create groups. I previously had a blackberry pearl and this ability made contacting entire groups of people effortless. However, with my iphone i must each time select all recipients which is time consuming and always a risk that someone will miss out on important info. I love my iphone but this is one thing I wish would be added. Seems like it would be an easy fix.

+1 on the notes app. I have moved it from page three to page 1 because it will sync, but it still feels amateurish.
+1 on switching between main apps without going back to home.
I would use a homescreen summary and categorizations of apps by folder instead of screen, but think that both are against the spirit of the iphone.
I would like powermodes and time windows. I would silence all calls and texts after 11 for example. I would like to have the phone not sleep when plugged it.
I thought that 3.0 would have fixed the calendar repeat and alert limitations. I am not organized enough to rememeber which appointments I told myself I would set up proper repeat and alerts when I get home to my Mac.
The rotate gesture from the mac trackpad would be great for being able to force a rotate when the accelerometer gets confused. This mostly happens in iTunes when I'm stuck in coverflow.
Finally, some universal gestures are necessary to take the pressure off the home button. Starting to lose its intuitiveness.

1) Multiple signatures. I can't believe this request never makes wish lists. Right now you must use the same signature for all email accounts. In my case, each email account is a different business and therefore I need different signatures!
2) Shorten SMTP roll-over time. Right now, if you send and email via wi-fi (or 3G) the iPhone waits something like 10 minutes before trying additional SMTP servers. During that 10 minutes your iPhone cannot check mail. It should roll-over to your next SMTP setting after just ONE MINUTE if the first one fails.
3) Allow Image attachments in mail program. To email a picture you must go to the camera App first. Allow us to go to the email App, type a message and add an attachment.
Thanks for listening.
