It's not just "bigger programs" that count. It's the entire experience and how you use the computer whether or not you install Adobe CS5.
Here is what a REAL Windows 7 computer is suppose to look like...

Just to let you know, the part where you say

Quote

"Although he didn't say how long it took him to install or boot the operating system, other forum users have chimed in and timed the installation for a Pentium III-based system at a low 17 continuous hours. And the boot time? 17 minutes."
is incorrect. I have installed the Windows 7 RC on a Dell P3 running at 665MHz with 512MB of RAM and the install time was about 1 1/2 hours, and the boot time is about 2 minutes.

I am sorry friend but I am running windows 7 on modern equiptment with no troubles.
I have also installed this brilliant o/s on many other system during the course of my work.
I have 3 sons who are all using it with no problems either.

My specs are as follows
Gigabyte am3 mobo,
Amd phenom 2 810,
4 gig ram,
Nvidia 9800 gt,
1000 watt modular psu,
3 Internal Hdd's
1 External Hdd
2 Sata dvd r/w drives.
All housed in an Zalman Gs 1000 case.

This has been running sweet as can be using win 7 home premium 64 bit retail since 22-10-09
Prior to that it was running the win 7 ultimate rc with no issues.

So yes it does run modern hardware.
