hi, my pc started having this problem a few weeks ago, it started rebooting by itself when i tried using the web, i got tired of it and formated the disk, and i couldn't install the xp, it just keps rebooting, before the installation would go prety far but like 7 minutes to finish now i'm lucky if it goes to the format disk part.i thought it was the graphics card because it was getting way to hot so i changed it but with no resulti updated the bios with the latest file from the official websitei tried a different cd, but the cd is fine cause i installed it on an old pc i have and no problemsi also tried a different cd drive, the master the slave and another i havei replaced the cables, i tried with different hard drivesand i tested the ram memory with memt 32, i tested the dimms individualy and no errors but with the 2 working at the same time it gave errors on test 5 so i replaced with another memoryand none of this workedi'm getting out of ideas the only thing i remenber is the battery or motherboardany help would be very appreciated

You said the rebooting problem showed itself before you felt the need to do a reinstall of Windows. A pc that constantly reboots randomly can very well have a power supply going bad. Take your pc to a trusted pc repair shop; they can check the output from the power supply.

The power supply is the most likely choice, your CPU could possibly be overheating as well. Check to see that your fan that cools your PC is working as well.Davehttp://www.davescomputerserv.com
