Actually, Microsoft will do what they do best. Since PCs are taking more and more of this nation's power, MS's plan is for a giant blue screen of death, disabling your PC. Since your machine won't work, you will turn it off, saving the country's electric grid.

Ah, we already have kids fighting on the forums. Macs are useful, and at least in my experience I have not seen a blue screen of death since Windows 98. Every OS has its place in the world and there is not need to fight over it. Why don't you both focus on the article?
This sounds like a useful tool, what home owner wouldn't be interested in something that could potentially save them money? Now, the ads don't sound too appealing, but as long as Hohm is offered at no cost to the consumer it should be fine.
It also sounds like a valuable tool for power companies to better predict energy needs. If it can provide real time feedback, it would also enable more dynamic flows of electricity, making our smart grid even smarter.

Fore sure, I'm all for better performance and power useage. When MS people puts their minds together, they can do some really great things. Same with Apple, there's a lot of really good stuff in OSX. What we need to focus on is what benefits each OS has and how to get those capabilities on the others.

But it's too hard to resist throwing a stone back at the fanboys that have 1 flame post, and then you never see them again. You know they will see the email that says someone replied.
