I am getting me an upgrade but as a bargain shopper, does anyone know if Best buys $49.99 plus free shippng is the best deal going?

I don't see where you can choose 32 or 64bit or are they all 64bit? Upgrading from XP. It says all editions so thats good.

Hey Rommel !!

This is a MS Deal. BestBuy will sell it at that price and probably charge

MS for the shipping cost. You won't get a better deal. it's from MS and

not the retailers. Take a look :

http://www.microsoft.../pre-order.aspx .

You may want to wait a few days to see if we can find out for sure about the 32bit vs 64bit versions. If it's only 32bit, I'll will wait to Oct 22 and go with the OEM as the machines I working with I built anyway. I can't believe they didn't specify.

Since it is an upgrade license, it should be "both" at a minimum. With Vista, even if you got the 32 bit version shipped to you originally, you could have the 64 bit version shipped to you later (for the price of shipping...about $10). They may have the option of just having the 64 bit version sent originally.

Just got an answer from Tim Comes of the Microsoft Developer Network to my question posted on the Technet Forums (Windows 7 General Discussion) that both versions are supposed to be on the DVD. Now I just have to get to word out to everyone.
It makes sense, I just wish they had added one line to the promos to say that.

I confirm that.

After work I stopped at Best Buy to ask about that being their site didn't specify and was told the same thing.

Yes, both versions are contained on the DVD, pretty much a standard practice now to cut down on actual number of discs produced.

It's not earth shattering but the best price to date. Costco $47.99 free s/h.
