for sometime i have been tryin to find out which is the best web browser..recently i switched from IE to Firefox..Is that advisable??also, tho i have made firefox my default internet browser, when i click to open my inbox from MSN messenger, it opens with IE..who can i enable it to open with firefox??

There is no ultimate browser, just what's comfortable for you. If that's IE, Firefox, Netscape, Opera, Seamonkey, AOL... then so be it. Use what your comfortable with.

If you want security, try Firefox or Opera, if you want features get Netscape of Seamonkey, if you want compatability get IE/Avant/etc.

Altough I usually recommend an alternative browser, like Mozilla Firefox or Opera, it really is a matter of preference. Alternative browsers do have a bit more security at the moment, because most of the world uses Internet Explorer making it a prime target for hackers and whatnot, and alternative browsers don't have activeX, which is most cases is actually a good thing since activeX is a security threat.But some sites may require you to run Internet Explorer to view them, like Windows (or Microsoft) update, and some other websites you may run across.Right now, I've been running alternative browsers for a while, altough I do randomly switch back and forth and back and forth, I haven't had any compatibilty problems yet (altough I run Internet Explorer for Microsoft Update).

There are only a few minor downfalls to Opera, namely it sometimes has some compatability issues, and reads flash funny. I'm sure Opera is working on this, but they had a good solution to it in their last version. Opera used to identify itself as IE for better compatability. I think that was a wonderful idea and they shouldn've kept it up, but I guess that they did it so they would really see how many people were using Opera. It does do a MUCH better job of rendering pages than Firefox and IE. I'd imagine that Seamonkey is rather similar to Firefox, but I guess you're a better one to judge than me since you actually use it. I do like Mozilla Thunderbird lots.

Sea Monkey is an all in one application suite. It has a web browser, HTML editer, email, and chatzilla for irc. It's very secure, and has the dame features as FireFox.The only gripe i have about it is there is no go button, only a google search button. Not useful when you're trying to get to a site and get google by accident.

I use Firefox for most of my browsing, and I do run Opera for a few things as well. I like them both really well. I also use URLFlock. It is in beta v.7.4.1 and I find it can do anything firefox can. I think it is based off of the mozilla browsers anyway.

Personally I think Firefox is the best browser available, for security, customizability, and for web standards.Opera is also a great alternative now that its free.

I personally like IE, probably more so because I'm used to it. I like Firefox as well and install it on my clients who have spyware issues. Opera is cool, but I really haven't used it much. This is more of a personal taste issue more than anything else.Davehttp://www.davescomputerserv.com

Firefox Beta2 n Opera 9.2 say no to IE opera page rendering is very fast but due to some web application compatibility i use Firefox most of the times.

I have never found a way to have MSN messenger open my inbox with another browser than IE - doesn't matter anymore, though, because I have gmail.
